Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

You won the Power Tank this year, maybe you'll win Sidetracked's next year....

Scott forget the lights...get someone to donate a ford hi pinion front locker for next year.

I would take the extra wires and run them to your seat from the fan switch..so whenever the fans are off you get a shock reminding you they are off.

the front looks a lot better now...it kinda looks like a transformers face

now you need to crawl it at low speed with the fan on to see what happens.

and I would run it at 40 with the fan on to see if it runs hotter...I was thinking mabe part of the problem is the fan is not turning fast enough to pull air once you hit a certain speed and thus its slowing the air trying to get thru, causing it to get hot.

I have electronic fan controller that I will be installing in the coming weeks to fix that issue for good.

I had a really cheap flexalite controller the first year I ran the buggy, hated that POS. I've run a few systems but the best one I have found is an auto switch n the head that fires a relay for the "primary" fan. Then I have a three position switch that has the one fan on auto, all off, auto fan with secondary always on.

With the overly large rad. in the buggy rarely does the second fan become a necessity. We ran 30+min at V2R in heavy silt and only saw 220 with one fan on, switched all on and watched it cool off. This is at 45-60+ mph in nasty heavy silt.

I don't like the fan controllers and prefer to use the auto setting of the thermo switch.

So was going to put the fan controller in today.

Got looking at it and looking at my intake and came to the conclusion, pretty quick, that I don't have a place to put the temp sender. So went and looked at the soon to be new intake from the MPFI only has two and one has the temp sender for the injection.

So for the time being ran the small fan to key on power, now it comes on when the key is turned on. Which is OK but not what I want.

So question for all you BBC guys out there, if I cannot get a plug out of the side of the head. My water pump has a plug next to the hose the goes into the intake any issue running a heater hose from that?

Now some may be saying he doesn't have a heater in that thing, and you would be right. However I have one, a rear one from a burb and have thought about putting it in. So want to keep my options open.

buy some long johns and get a thermo housing with a plug in it

Dont you have a build thread to update?

I could second Eric's name for it and find a third and you would be stuck. So comment nicely.

So onward and upward anybody have any thoughts to using the smaller vent line for the filler neck as a place to run the return line from the MPFI to ?

The kit says to make sure it is at least a 3/8 size.

Going to use the stack line out of the tank for the feed just don't have another hole in the tank that is big enough for the return.

A "T" will not work for a heater.

Sorry, that was two separate thoughts.

I meant where your fuel injection sensor is, put a tee into that hole, and run two sensors off of the same port. Or, just drill and tap a hole in one of the back corners of the intake manifold where the water passages are in the heads.

The comment about the heater was just that I thought you shoudl try to install a heater, nothing to do with the tee.

Sometimes my comments are too short, I apologize.

OK that makes more sense a "T" for the sensor.

Have to figure out something because near as I can figure going to need three at the minimum four if I run a heater.

MPFI sensor, fan controller, temp gauge, heater hose

Any reason you can't drill and tap the rear of the intake manifold?

Have a bit of an update

Got the mirrors put on, just out of the blue decided to do them. They fold in so if needed they can be. Kind of nice to be able to see the sides of the truck now.

Got the second seat passengers ammo box / storage area put in also. daughter was complaining that she had no where to put her stuff so had to fix that.

Started working on the front center console. Pulled out the old plastic one. Welded in a large ammo box. Did the weld one side of the lid trick so the front opens but the lid stays on.

Even go a good jump on making the floor shifter mount.
