Cut 1½" pink board into strips that fit between those boards. Then all you have to insulate a little better is the walls.
More pink board I'd say.
Then tape the seems. Even if it's only 3/4" or 1". It's not that expensive and way better than nothing.
 
This thing I think, was a lot easier to put together then it has been to take apart.
Remade the support that the hood pins are going to attach too. The old one had the headlights and grill attached to it so had to redo all those mounts too.
Looks like I am going to have to pull the radiator I think at this point to be able to get to the part of the frame that I need too.

Really don't want to pull the trans cooler and the oil cooler but I guess I will see what kind of space I need after the steering box is out of the way.
 
I can't remember if you are going back to a steering box or going full hydro but this is a good example of where a full hydro setup would be the way to go. No more stress on the frame.
 
I got the stuff to fix the frame so at this point I'm just going to fix it. The tentative plan is when I get my shop built, soon I hope. To do full coil over on the front end the back and then I'm going to clip the frame from the firewall forward and just build a new frame.
At that point I will go full hydro.
 
Got some work done today, have a butt load ton of more work to do.

Decided to pull out the stock crossmember, going to box the frame with inserts around the bolts.

The tube is level, my frame ends are not ........

Once the boxing is done going to run a tube from the upper part of the frame to new tube probably from the center off the steering box bolts.

Got a bunch of stuff done today, maybe really close to getting it finished.

My new Windstar fan setup got here too.

The tabs on the cross bar are where the rear winch mount mounts to.

Fixed the really good trail fix on the frame ends. Ended up tightening all the bolts that mounted the front leaf hangers to the frame, not that they really need to be there, just figured of they were they should at least be tight.

So the frame around the box is plated on the inside and I put a gusset of sorts on the cross bar to the frame plate figured what the heck.

It is doing really well. We had like 6 inches of snow. I went out and hit the bottom to get the snow to slide off as it was snowing every three hours or so.
Other then that storm so far haven't even had to that again. One inch or so just slides off on its own, or just melts.

The worry about it collapsing is a bit bothersome a lot of times.

We had a thunderstorm snow storm woke me up at like 3 am, went and looked at it and it was doing fine.
