Got a little more time in the garage last night. It was 16 degrees outside and the wind was blowing at 20 something miles an hour, so it was all I could do to keep the shop warm with the barrell stove and a Reddy Heater.
Started out by getting the truck dusted off and wiped down.
Then doused the thing with a coat of red primer.
The body work is by no means done, but at least now it is solid and all one color, so it won't bring down my property value by sitting in my driveway! The doors still need attention/ replacing, but they got sprayed just for the sake of making everything match in the meantime. It looks good enough to move on to mechanical stuff now, worry about body work when it's not so hard to get the shop up to 70 degrees.
I picked up a set of heads off of a buddy today. They're 90 model truck heads with a fresh valve job and a port and polish. While I was at it, I grabbed a TBI intake and decided I'd just go ahead and TBI the truck.
I have a harness from Affordable Fuel Injection.com on my 54, and I love it. However, I'm wanting to go a little different direction with the 54 since it's not my primary vehicle anymore. So I'll be transferring this setup to the K5 once the motor is in.
