blazinor and i at the rti ramp with pics

Go find a rock--LOL
Got some pics, there kinda crapy. But if you want to take a look there in the Test Forum under "Twiz's Pic Test". When I get some better photos I'll try it again.

Should be a 816 RTI on a 30 (!) deg. ramp. (or cherry picker, use what you got)

Eric, a different opinion is one thing. Being a dickhead about it is another...
I don't expect this site to be a mutual admiration society but at least try and find something positive to say, and if you can't then disagree with some class.

We had a ramp at the event I was at this past weekend. Hummer did pitiful!
I managed about a 780 fowards on a 25 degree ramp guessing from how far up I went the same ramp in the past. Had a bud with a TJ do about 1100 on the 25 deg.
Then we had a guy with a moded out Jeep come run the ramp. Really it was more GM then Jeep. The only thing Jeep about it was the tub and hood. Full tube frame with Fox racing shocks. GM 350, GM D60 front 14 bolt rear NV4500 tranny and a NP205 case and I think it had a doubler. Four Link suspension with 42 inch swampers. He did about 1200 on 30 degree's. He had more flex then we had ramp. front axle was about 60 degees from hoizontal. Passenger side front tire was more on it's side than it was on it's tread. Was pretty impressive. I think BigJBear has some pictures. As usualy I forgot the camera.

Yeah I see your point, Rene. ("mutual admiration society", Would have taken me all day to come up with something like that, and another couple of hours to spell/type it

-to Grimm's reply-
Wow! Front axle at 60 deg. Holy smokes! Brings up a question, just how much flex does a guy really need? Has anyone really needed that much in the real world? I think hitting a good solid 700 or so, with some good sized tires would be enuff. Anyone have some input? (maybe that should be another post, but since we're on the subject here)

Don't ya just hate that Jason?

Hey while we're on a flexy subject...how did your longer front spring thing turn out? Didn't you end up with a much shorter drag link by moving the axle forward? How do you find this affects the trucks steering when flexed out? Is a crossover in the near future? Is that enough questions?

The hummer may ramp pitiful but I promise you after many years in the military I have seen that thing do some eyepopping sh!t. Don't get me wrong, I would never go out and buy one, but they are fun to wring out on someone elses dollar.
Wish there was a ramp around here too, would like to see what my blazer would do.

i haven't got the fronts on yet. i'm still trying to decide how i'm going to mount them. i'm leaning towards having some custome spring hangers made. i have a few different ways in mind but they will lead to a much higher ride hight. 7 to 8 inch range- which leads to drivlines, longer shocks and so on. i'm going to set it up so i don't have to mess with the drag link much- shooting for axle centered in wheel well. i'll keep ya posted. my rear shackle flip worked out great though. had it welded on for strength last week.
i threw on my buddy's 36 in spare bogger just to see what it looked like and now i want new tires! damn, i shouldn't have done that!

Did you rule out the cross over-steering -blue beast-. I think that would work really well on you set up. If you did, Why?

Moveing the front axle forward is a bonus, keeping the tires away from the firewall and eating up the fenders, plus you have alot more room to cut out of the lower front "chin" of the front fenders.

On mine, The test treads are 36/15/15 DickCepeks bias, Measure out to be just a little shy of 35" and at the widest 15" across. I'm going to have to trim the fenders more than I originaly thought, but I don't think I'm going to have to get wacky with it. It's about a 4" lift and the axles moved forward 1".

i don't want the expense of putting cross over on my wimpy 10 bolt. i'll wait til i score a 60

The Bronco (an awesome rig he has by the way) ramped I think a 673.................so yes, both mudhog and I beat him. Unfortunately he re-ramped backwards AFTER I left and got a 721 so won the gift certificate.............tho he sent a club-wide email out stating that I won. Go figure! Had to get home!

He has 6" of lift and 38" Cepek Fun Country's............
