How come you guys ramped about the same? What are you guys running and what is the difference besides the 4" lift? Was BlazinOR limited by shock travel? What were the numbers for the Hummer?

Just wondering. It seams like the 4" lift and 35's would a lot better than a stock vehicle.

Congrats on the score. That's not to bad for a stock vehicle. Did it beat the Toyota?
 
yes i did beat the toyota by lots lol he got a 537 the hummer only got like 390 or so he didnt do well lol frank (blazinor) has stiffer springs than i do so that is why i did almost as good as he did he has the heavy springs to offset his warn 12000 on the front he also has the ord quick disconects(sp?) and my sway bar was still conected i also beat a friend of mine he has a 81 bronco with 9in lift and 38's and he got 690 or so.
so i dont feal to bad about my score

i only got 696 backwards. if the bronco would not have gon up it backwards blazinor would have won the fullsize event with me in second place

Ramps are fun tools! Our club has a 20 degree ramp, backwards I managed a 1065. No sway bar and relocated rear shocks help though. That was with 35 psi in the tires too. I could have dropped down to single digits and increased my ramp numbers...

Hey that was fun! Shannon, you should have told me Scotty went up backwards - I would have tried it and might have won that gift certificate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The springs are only 3 weeks old with about 150 miles on them, gotta drive it some, get them loosened up a bit and then ramp it again. Think the tires hitting the wheelwell was a factor too..............

We also didn't air down, running 40psi can't match 8psi I imagine. Would like to try that just to see the difference.

By the way, the disconnects were disconnected (haha) but I didn't swing the bar up out of the way - that wouldn't matter, would it?

Think I'm going to get the velvet rides for the rear too. Wanted to drive it with the 4" springs first, ramp it, then see the improvement from the Velvet Rides.

Hey, 714 ain't bad for a truck not built for flexing..........I'm OK with it, and after seeing the scores for a LOT of Heeps and the joke Hummer, not to mention the Toyota Pickups scores I feel pretty good. HUMMER - 372 - gotta be kidding me!!!!!!!

I think a yugo with snow tires is more capable in the mud!

Did you check to see if your shocks were limiting travel Frank? My rears used to limit travel until I relocated them...

i agree with that, my wifes Geo Metro with 6 inches total of wheel travel could bea that thing...

what part of oregon you guys in?

1974 Chevy Blazer Cheyanne. lots of plans for it....
but it is on 33's now, with saggy old springs. i am in so cali if ya got any parts for me.

i dont think he liked both our blazers out doing his ford lol i am going to put the lift on next week and go re ramp it and see how it dose after the lift

Nobody is claiming a ramp is wheelin...but they are a fun tool to measure flex and check for problems when the truck is maxed out.

Bah, Sometimes I think its a little too fluffy around here. A little bangen' heads really isn't all that bad is it? It's just expressing another point of view. We all got something to say, and sometimes we don't all follow the same path. This would be very boring world if we all went along with the majority.

The pics are cool, and like Rene said, RTI is fun, but it's just a tool and also helpfull in comparing one rig to another. But thats just about it, real world wheelin' is where the proof is.

Hummers don't do well in the mud? I would have thought differently, with that ultra high ground clearance and all. Maybe its that ultar high weight that sinks 'em. Eather way, they still turn my head when I see 'em, and would jump at the chance to go wheel one (w/o haveing to go join the Army). But I'd pick my K5 over one of those for wheelin'. Then again, If you figure in the "Chick Atraction Factor" then I think the Hummer would win.

And the low RTI score has alott to do with the heavy duty nature (I think, they have a H/D tow rating = high coil spring rate) and also the long and wide stance they have, takes away alot of the rti score too. A RTI score figures in the wheel base, so the longer the rig is, the higher it needs to clime to score the same number. (someone with a short wheel base might be able to score a 800 and only lift the tire 30" off the ground, A longer wheel base rig would have to pack the tire over 40" off the ground to hit the same score)
