This is something I've always looked at, thought about, done, and then started over again. there's tons of resources on the web, but either they are pure naturalists, pure anarchist, or just plain unsuited for the average person.

Do you guys have one? If so, what do you carry? Do you change your load according to mission criteria? (NBC (nuclear/biological/chemical) Natural (earthquake/floods)/ Other?

You've never heard of a Bug out bag? Its basically a backpack you load with equipment should you have to leave within 5 minutes.

Generally in mine, I keep: (for summer)
Water purification system of some sort( usually sweetwater chlorine/ iodine tabs)
water bottle
space blanket
full size knife (ka bar)
Para rope
Camo poncho
boonie hat
3 pairs of socks
Various medicines
Mini binoculars
Toliet paper
Bug spray
Flint/magnesium/matches
and some other stuff I cant remember.

Ah...for a minute there I thought it was some kind of riddle! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

It should be called emergency bag. When I read the title I thought it was about a bag of bugs or something to do with bugs for fishing /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

I assure you it is called a bug out bag!!!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

So what do you all have in your BOB or Emergency bag, etc...

That's a stupid name!

Anyway, I carry all that crap on my belt, 1911, multitool, pocket knife, zippo, electrical tape, bandana, I want to get a KaBar though

In the truck I'd have a couple gallons of water and a field butcher kit, some rope, and a 12/20 500

If I did that in my town, they'd most certainly call the cops on me.

but you carry electrical tape? on your belt?

Well, belts and pockets

Mag light, multitool, 1911, extra clips on belt

Knife, Zippo, Playcoin, in Right Front Pocket

Change, Clip and Cartridge when gun is unloaded for post office and work, and notes I write to myself in Left Front Pocket

Wallet and more notes in Right Rear

Bandana And Electrical Tape in Left Rear

Cell Phone in left cargo, pens in right cargo

I'd like to get a Ka Bar in a back draw setup

Electrical tape is to me much better than duct tape, except for seam sealing an hangin posters. Is youj stretch it and wrap it toight it constricts, it makes smopoth hangles, it doesnt leave fibres, it's great for wrapping handles, and the standard electrica'l uses are good too

My greatest day of shame was when Spickler was doing his impromptu wiring and I had none, sad sad sad sad sad

I'd also like a cigratte case, but seeing as I smoke a pack in a month if that it's kind of impractical

Man how long does it take to get ready in the morning? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

BTW - What the hell is a playcoin?

I wear the same pants for a long time, so I leave everything in the pockets cept for the 1911 and ammo

I only wear pants to work, and thats the only place I go, I wear my shorts and cape out to the shop

You know that coin fourwheeler mag sent with the free video? That's a playcoin

They just sent me a bill for that video, I threw it away

I hear ya on the pants! My knife, wallet, hair bands etc are always in 'em....
Ok, why the hell do carry around a playcoin? /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You know your scarin me on the "post office" and guns part.

/forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

You pants have got to be at least.. 10 lbs.

I thought 1911's were drop safe, even in the cocked and locked state. I have DAO's, so thats not a concern for me.
