So, since it's all apart (gas tank, transmission, transfer case, all of it) I figured I'd replace the body mounts since it came with all brand new ones.
But I'm a little confused and my Haynes doesn't mention body mounts/bushings anywhere.

Previous owner wedged pieces if wood between them and body. Not sure why

See attached pictures

There were no bushings like this when I removed the old ones

I though maybe this is how it was supposed to go but it does not fit this way

The only way I can put it together is by putting said bushing like this. The top round pancake one fits in that hole perfectly

And finally. The only thing I do have is a diagram from LMC truck

that mount doesn’t look like anything I’ve seen on a first gen. You should have those flat pancake parts and the cone shaped parts. The cone shape goes under the metal on the frame.

I was confused as well and called LMC truck to confirm proper part numbers/part. The flat pancake one is the only one that came out on the jimmy.
The cylinder shaped one has a metal washer, and a metal bushing inside it to snug the bolt to
So maybe its added to improve ride quality?

But honestly of all the things I've done I've never done body mounts. Of course the very first thing I get started on, Murphy has to show up

Is it perfectly round or does it have two flat sides? Maybe the photo angle just makes it look round. If so, the second photo is right, but you need a big washer under the nut. Not sure why LMC doesn’t list the washer for position 3-5. Maybe I’m missing some.

It's perfectly round and has a big washer built into the bottom of it. But much to wide to fit in the hole from the top. Im thinking the same. That's gotta be the way it goes.

here’s what mine look like. I have the polyurethane mounts so maybe there’s a difference?

I found a drawing from the assembly manual. They look more like yours.

Just saw this thread. Did you get it all figured out? I bet that wood were the shims to get the gaps to line up better.

Yep got it straightened out. Its possible they used the wood to help align. The previous owners did not have the lower mount piece installed so maybe that's why it was off? Not sure but it seems to fit together well for me now that I have a reference to see

For the front mounts just ahead of the cab, do I have to cut the floor pans to get that bolt out?

under the radiator or under the gas pedal? The gas pedal may be tacked on, but if it’s rusted enough, you may be able to break the weld by hammering it up from underneath. The one at the radiator is just a carriage bolt welded to a chunk of metal, should come out easy once the nut is off.

Idk if this helps but these two. driver and passenger side. Not the radiator supports

And inside floor panel. I've never done body mounts before so this is all new for me
