Howdy! Pretty new to the site. Haven't even seen it all yet, and I am amazed at the wealth of information here. I did a search on the following request and came up with nothing, so I hope this hasn't been asked before.

What are the bolt specs for the dust cover on an '87 K5. 350cid and TH700-R4?

does it have to 6 big bolts or the 4 little bolts?

im not sure of the exact size but i know that both are metric. i actually need to know the size for the 4 little bolts.

I need to go check, but if I remember right there are about 6, yes. Two of them are used for braces that come from up around the oil sump whic are probably the larger ones. The four others may use a nut on the back side of the cover. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Straight from my GM service manual:

Converter housing cover...............25 ft-lbs
Transmission support braces...........70 ft-lbs

Sorry Heavy... Do you also have the bolt sizes? That's what I was getting at. I should have been more clear. I have a Haynes Manual, but there's no bolt sizes in there.

I thought about this question last night as I lay under a parts truck staring at those dust cover bolts. If I can remember I'll check them but on my 87 they look to be a 14mm wrench size. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
