Bondo + rust = rockers, front quarters, rock sliders, and stuff

i cut them to the proper height and then i'm going to take a strip of 1/8" plate and run it the length of the bottom edge of the fender and use it as a bolt-ing point so that the fenders are still removable.

Heres my progress this weekend. Still need to brace the front fenders and cut them for the front tires. I used extra good sheet that I cut to try to reform the door jam.

I think I'd like to see mine end up with the sliders as the doorsills, sorta like Colby's. I swear someone on here has done that.

Still can't find anything on that 4-Wheel & Off-Road project truck.
Ah, found some of it:

I have those issues about the UK10. What you found is about all they have in the mag. I wish they would go more in depth about custom mods like that. I'd like to see them do an issue that deals with changing wheelbases.

I think in one of the issues after the UA they mentioned in passing that the cab got pretty screwed up from the beating. I'm just wondering if it was a fault of the rock rails or simply them beating it too hard. I know they parted it the next year into Jarred's PreMudder K5.

i have a chunk O steel at work thats 10 or 12 foot long and i'm guessing 3 x 8in. is that too wide or tall? i use it to push pallets of shingles into trucks and vans. i always say we will never get rid of it for that reason,BUT  after what Jess said he paid for his if it will work, it's coming home with me.;):D

i'm guessing on the size.it looks close to the size in Jess's pic, but his is on an angle so i thinks i be a measuring tommorow.:D

daryl,

It will be fine if you do 3x8, but you may have to cut into one of the cab braces like I did. No big deal, just more places to weld :)
