Re: Boss or anyone that has installed a 1

Cool, glad you got it done. I sent you the PM before I saw this post, so disregard if you want.

No problem, because I currently don't have a rear bumper I didn't have to drop the tank. I do have to adjust the auto tranny linkage though so I can get 1st and 2nd.

Way to go Steve...it is a PITA job but the extra inch is worth it.

Yeah, I wanted to wait untill I got the lift on before I have one made, I will have one that wraps around the sides and offers some corner protection, I also plan on getting rid of the stock lights in favor of some utility lights, stay tuned.

Kewl...you mean similar to the lights Bryan (Laketex) is using?

They would definitely be less prone to getting smashed on the trail...I think the wrap around idea will work well with your quarter panel trimming too. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Re: Boss or anyone that has installed a 1

Yeah, I want to cut out the rear lip so the sheet metal below the body line is some what flat then have some custom Jeep corners made (3/16" plate) with the long utility lights then add braces on the inside, should be able to take a fair hit then without loosing a tail light as well.

Should be tough...but might resemble an old Ford pick-up from the rear.

Are you planning on aluminum or steel for the corners? They should be lots of fun to make with the contours at the rear.

I think steel but might try cardboard.

Yeah cardboard is so much easier to form...but the real trick is welding it
