Both rear 37\'s went flat on fwy, *UPDATE LEAK FOUND*VIDEO**

ok so i did a run with the www.socalbigdawgs.com on saturday, and we ran trails in calico/ anyway my tires were fine! i drove about 30-40 miles south of calico and washed the windows and tires from mud to make it more driveable, then about 10-20 miles down the freeway from there the truck starts swaying, and i just think its cause my sway bar isnt connected, anyway it gets a little worse, so i pull over, and my bro points out that my drivers side rear was completely flat! and not only that the rubber smelled way burnt. so we get out, and walk around the truck only to see the passanger side flat also!!!! DAMMIT, so thats $500 down the drain.
So i call my g/f and she offers to load some 31 inch tires i have at home into her car and drive 2+ hours to bring them to me.
we get towed to a parking lot, she brings the spare, we throw the front 2 tires on the rear and put the 31's on the front (i'm geared to 5.13 in case your wondering why) so after i complete the swap i drive 60 miles to her family's house. and this morning when i woke up..... THE RIGHT REAR IS FLAT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!
so now i'm at a loss. try and patch this one and buy 2 new tires or get all 4 new, either way i'll have to find the money somewhere! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
anyone have an idea how this coulda happened?

Heres the leaks

RE: The Manufacturer
They think that maybe the welders temp was lowered on the rear 1/2 of all the rims because the front and rear are welded at seperate times. Anyway he's getting me replacement tires, and new rear 1/2s of the rims and all shipping at his cost. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif Its the right thing in my book and if the replacememts hold, all will be well in my book

Re: Both rear 37\'s went flat on fwy, no spare!!!!!!!

Maybe you hit some rocks and got a bunch of slow leaks /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif That sucks man, hope it works out for you /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Re: Both rear 37\'s went flat on fwy, no spare!!!!!!!

Man that's gotta make you mad!! Any idea why they went flat?....hole in tire or leaky beadlock or ??? /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Re: Both rear 37\'s went flat on fwy, no spare!!!!!!!

Are your wheels bent somehow to let air out? Do you know it's the tires?

Re: Both rear 37\'s went flat on fwy, no spare!!!!!!!

You might have run over a bunch of old beer bottles or old firewood with nails in it. I have been wheelin to Calico a bunch of times, and a lot of people out there like to drink beer while their out there, and then shoot them with their guns, or leave behind any unused firewood at their campsite.

Re: Both rear 37\'s went flat on fwy, no spare!!!!!!!

Man, sorry to hear about that! Especially since that was my air that came out of those tires! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Anyway, with that many tires low I would definately check to see if your wheel bolts had loosened up from all the driving, see if they are still torqued properly. If they loosened up you lost your seal and there goes the air.

Re: Both rear 37\'s went flat on fwy, no spare!!!!!!!

judging by the amount of mud on your blaze, you might havegotten a small amount of mud/dirt between the bead and seat of the tires (inside bead). seen it happen once, just a thought /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif hopefully your tires are not permanantly dammaged

Re: Both rear 37\'s went flat on fwy, no spare!!!!!!!

He has double beadlocks so I highly doubt that anything could have gotten down in there.

Re: Both rear 37\'s went flat on fwy, no spare!!!!!!!

I'm with Jason, I bet your beadlock bolts are the culprit.

Re: Both rear 37\'s went flat on fwy, no spare!!!!!!!

i'll check my bolts and see what there at after i fill up the flat one today and run water over it.

Re: Both rear 37\'s went flat on fwy, no spare!!!!!!!

I'm not sure about the bolts backing out since they have nyloc nuts but that is a good place to start. 35 to 45 ft.lbs. First I thought maybe you damaged the o-ring but then it's three different rims and I doubt that /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I'm interested to see what it turns out to be. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Re: Both rear 37\'s went flat on fwy, no spare!!!!!!!

Also, what did you end up doing for valve stems? Might want to check them, get some new cores for them.

Re: Both rear 37\'s went flat on fwy, no spare!!!!!!!

k so i filled it up, sprayed with sopy water, and couldnt find the damn leak anywhere /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
i'm gonna try and make it home to my house, that way i can un-mount it

Re: Both rear 37\'s went flat on fwy, no spare!!!!!!!

I though toyu were running those 39.5" Bias bastards...

Sorry to hear that, if it's a tire defect try and get a replacement.

Re: Both rear 37\'s went flat on fwy, no spare!!!!!!!

i would check for mud in the seating of the tire to rim.
ya never know. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Re: Both rear 37\'s went flat on fwy, no spare!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about your tires Branndon, you seem to have the worst luck with beedlocks /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif, if thats the problem but on the up side at least you are out wheeling that thing /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif. More then I can say for my self but mine is getting closer to being trail ready /forums/images/graemlins/hack.gif. It might be time to get a car trailer for your /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif. I cant wait to see your pics or video from the trip...

Re: Both rear 37\'s went flat on fwy, no spare!!!!!!!

one thing ive found that works better than soapy water, is put the wheels in a horse trough or a swimming pool. i would put about 40 psi in them so you know that it will leak.
