Remember when we put those things together?
Just grade 8 nuts and flat washers,no lock washers,no LockTite.
Remember the tourque,wasn't it 20 some ft/lb's.Didn't think that would be enough. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I'll bet the combination of the highway speeds,unbalanced 38's and throw in a little offroad abuse,some nuts prob. backed out or even streached a bolt or 3 ....whoala,you have a leak.

Call me when you get home.We should put some lock washers on,put a dab of LockTite on them and tourque em down nice and tight!

it was more than 30 ft lbs, maybe near 35. i believe the recomended is 32 or something. and there are nylock nuts or something like that, they all look snug still, but i'll diagnose the problem today now that i'm home.

Do you have vavle stem cover on all the wheels? I did not have some once and my tires were loosing air it turned out there was mud in the stems causing a slow leak. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Air them way up (50 or 60 psi), remove the valve stem caps and submerge them until you find bubbles, it may be a slight bubble stream so be patient. If you dont have access to anything big enough to dunk them you could bring your tires to a tire shop......I'd find out where they are leaking before you tear them down. Hopefully your rear tires didnt get too hot and can be re-used...good luck /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Leak I have the WORST luck with rims! how should i go about this one. i mean not only are 3 rims bad, i dont know about the other 2, plus i'm out 2 95% tread SSR's.... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

They think that maybe the welders temp was lowered on the rear 1/2 of all the rims because the front and rear are welded at seperate times. Anyway he's getting me replacement tires, and new rear 1/2s of the rims and all shipping at his cost. Its the right thing in my book and if the replacememts hold, all will be well in my book

Why?? Did they get messed up from rolling on them when they were flat, they should still be good /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

the heat from driving on the freeway flat warped them and made them mis shaped, kinda like if you kick a basket ball, you know the lump it gets, well my tires are covered with them

mine had some leaks from usa6x6. i fixed them though.
the roblem is mig welding. tig would be a better way to weld them from jump.
