bother with the speedometer?

As some of you know, I'm opting to keep my rig as trail only.

With that in mind, I'm wondering how many that have a trail only rig, bothered with hooking up a speedometer?

I wouldnt... If your curious about the speed then the GPS works great... Thats what I use.

It depends on the year of the vehicle and if it uses a VSS. If there is a VSS involved then you really need to hook it up so the VSS works so that the ECM can use it for it's needed purposes.

Mine's not hooked up. If I end up driving it on the street I will just use a gps. Once the factory gauges go, there will be no speedo gauge either

If your gonna register it, why not put a speedo in it? The cable is cheap and it's better than getting a ticket the first time you go out for speeding..

i just go with the flow of traffic, and use the radars on the side of the road to know rpm @ certain speeds.

Go by the tach. My mom had no speedo in her '81 T/A. We just went off the rpms. Never once got pulled over

Yah, just do the DRAC mod. I'll even send you the 7pin dip switch you need to do it.

I have a tach and can figure my speed pretty accurately. Ive driven with no speedo for the past 6 years and been pulled over for everything but speeding.

watch, Ill get a speeding ticket on the way home from work now
