i just go with the flow of traffic, and use the radars on the side of the road to know rpm @ certain speeds.
x2

I burnt through my cable a long time ago and never replaced it...not that I can speed anyway with the wicked death wobble I got right around 30

Depending on how accurate the gps is, the odometer portion of the speedo can be handy for complicated trail directions.

this is one thing that I miss having. no odometer makes complicated directions even more complicated.

Ok so how do you know how fast you're going by GPS?? I haven't used any kind of one so i really have no idea

mine dont have one... i have a truck that was computer controled and has a non computer controled transfer case

Most GPS units have a function that tells you how fast you are going over the ground. Since it tracks your position and your direction it also knows your speed.

Heck, even my phone has it in with the GPS thingy.

The Garmin's have a dashboard like screen.

Speed, max speed, avg speed, trip distance, total distance, moving time, total time, stopped time, etc.

Posted 91mph as max on my gf's gps in the burb......cause it is a 91. I figured it shoudl be able to run its birthyear.

cool...i'd only have to run 73 in my k5, which is good since it doesn't like going fast at all haha:D

I was on highway 5. Bored. It was flat. it was under the tire rating, on a well maintained burb. And i had a radar detector. Didn't see any harm in it breifly.

But yah, 73 in a 73 has got to be doable. :D

NO WAY I'm going 86 in Big Ugly or even 89 in the K5.

My speedo is WAyyyyyyyyyy off. Ive learned what RPM versus Speedo reading is and verified with GPS. basiclly anything over 40mph, its 20mph off. Under that its 10mph off. So my speedo reads 85mph but im only going 65mph or 1900rpm. Ive actually got the plastic correction gears, but why tear into the tail housing just to correct this, lol. Ill get to it one day. Ive lived with it this way for 3 years. what is more time. lol.
