It is a nice truck, I was going to mention a new stance, :tongue1: but I also noticed he said it was a Z-71, so eh, maybe not so much.

I hear a lot of people saying they are not fans of the front ends of these years of trucks, I must be a weird one, I actually like them. :D

it has 135k... doesn't bother me really. the wheels are 20" ill be changing them to different 20's soon. the ones on it are 5 lug ford wheels and they use a 2 piece adapter/spacer to mount them.... why they did it I don't know:dunno: I want the right ones on it.

runs and drives nice. may need a u joint (slight thump occasionally from a dead stop), possibly a few other little things.... not bad at all though. I have quite a few plans for it.

only thing that bothers me is it has that rubber squeaky sound thing that some of these years get in the steering column. annoying as hell.

and I too like the front end look of these trucks:thumb:

another thing I like about this thing is, now I know why Im buying a 5.3 for my burb:thumb:

They're nice trucks. I like the hoods on the 06 trucks better though. I've been looking for something like that for a while but can't find anything reasonably priced that isn't pretty rusty already.

I was gonna say, now you're really gonna get a boner for a 5.3. I have wanted one for my K5 ever since I bought mine.

I should have a 5.3 in my garage by the end of the week for the burb:waytogo:

so far I like this truck. it has an odd issue with the 4wd. but nice otherwise.

4wd has a "service 4wd" message come up randomly and it wont go in 4x4 then. even if I never tried to put it in. shut of engine, turn back on, and 4wd works great and stays in.... :dunno: doesn't bother me yet. as long as it goes in when I want it.

cant find wheels I like or make up my mind on size.

Mines done that to me a couple times. No idea what causes it but same symptoms.

There is a encoder motor that goes bad on the transfer case if its a autotrac(pushbutton), its a black tube looking thing I think...

yeah it has the auto button... ill never probly use it but its there. I want to source one of the cable operated floor mount levers if it will wook with my t case

I had to replace an encoder motor on a Trailblazer recently. It took all of 15 minutes. Was like 4 bolts and done (no fluid loss). The hardest part was getting at the electrical connector which was on top of the t-case.

I don't think that t-case will take a cable style shifter, you'd prob have to swap out the t-case. On that same note, with how easy the job was and the part wasn't that expensive (even through GM), I don't think it would be worth the hassle. Just replace the encoder motor and be done.

cool.. ill have to look into that part.

I don't think your case can be converted to manual. I get the manual cases in from time to time. Just not sure how the truck would react electronically if it were switched over.

itll be fine I guess.

ill get some better pics as soon as the weather lets me wash it. I have a few plans like

Intake, exhaust, sprayed bed liner, roll out tonneau cover, stereo upgrade, and a programmer (to try for mpg's) not real concerned with power... it has enough.
