bought a new to me truck(SOLD IT to concentrate on the burb)

so far I love this thing :waytogo: does need a few small things but what 135000 mile truck dosent...

I sorta slid off a gravvy one night recently and had to go with the flow to keep momentum and get out......... slid sideways donw a 7' ish embankment and drove through a fence:doah: somehow I didn't hurt it though:waytogo: my buddy says there was wire there but I was too busy sh*tting my pants and driving to pay attention to that:haha:

If that squeak is more like a thump in the steering wheel you may need to replace the steering shaft.

20 min job and eliminates that. About a 90 buck part that gets replaced often due to a ****ty design

no it sounds like rubber rubbing against plastic..... sorta like the sound you get with your fingers in clean plastic dishes... only does it when I turn left for some reason. I'm gonna have to do the shaft deal too I think cause I do every now and then here the small clunk

well I made an order today:D got a set of raceline assults coming. and a set of nitto terra grapplers. finally getting rid of the ford pattern wheels and full on street tires. plus a set of splined lug nuts and bilstein 5100's for the front.

oh ... and I stepped the wheels down to 18"s instead of the 20"s

my wheels should be here tomorrow. and I may have the tires mounted on them if the shop can fit it in. the places around here will all refuse to actually put them on the truck if they believe they wont fit. so I will probably have to put them on myself. the 275/65/18's are just at 1/4" taller than the 275/55/20"s that are on it and it rubs now. so ill have to trim plastic in a few spots. we'll see how it all goes together soon:waytogo:

few weather washed pics of the current set up. to lazy to take it to the auto wash:rolleyes: i'll take a few more when the new ones are on.

actually I like em better than the ones I bought. not the size so much. but the look sorta. the ones I bought were more of a settled for type of thing. couldn't find anything I really liked, and then they were only $143 instead of $250 plus like all the other stuff I liked. I may use a paint marker to black out the fake bolt things along the bead..... that may help:thinking:

I like this even better. couldn't find any like this though

I got my wheels:waytogo: but the shop ive used before 3 times says "well we cant do that size" whatever..... guess its time to find a new place. the other 2 I called said itll be a week at least:doah:

they told me their old machine was ok. but the brand new one doesn't like aftermarket wheels........it messes them up.... so much BS I almost laughed at the dude :haha: I guess they just don't want my business anymore

Operator error. The new tire machines are really good for all of the 18, 19 and 20+ wheels we see on all the new cars these days. The fact that you have a/m wheels makes no difference.

wheels n tires are at the shop:waytogo: hopefully they'll be done today. if not I told them tomorrow was fine. im sure itll be tomorrow since I said that:rolleyes:

Did you ever figure this out? My tahoe has a similar sound coming from the steering wheel area when I turn either direction. I figured it's either a worn bushing or contact in there.....
