After pining over a late 80's blazer/jimmy with a 6.2 for years, I've finally bought one. :D
I've owned 3 dodge/cummins combo's and a 97' chevy tahoe w/ a 6.5TD, but still always wanted a diesel blazer. My ex-wife knew this, but buying parts for her corvette/bike etc, always seemed the priority. (no bitterness here.:doah: lol)
Now that I've gotten rid of her and her toys, I'm able to buy what I want.
I scooped up a 88 blazer 6.2 with the banks turbo from Florida. Already has a 4" lift on 33's as well.
I'm flying out of calgary monday night to fort lauderdale to drive her home. I am sooo stoked.
I'll post pics when I get home.

Cool. Make sure all the vitals are topped off and that you have spare fuel filter(s) with you. Looking forward to the pics.

Good deal man you'll love it! I drive my project 90 k5 diesel more than my new f150 when I'm home. I bought another gasser tonight for pieces parts for the project, so I guess I might need to start a build thread. Where in Florida are you picking it up at?

might want to swing into a quik-e-lube and get an oil change right away. even if the oil is good when you get it, that is going to be a LONG drive home.

I stopped in Mesquite Nevada and got the engine and diffs filled with mobil 1 synthetic. Pretty cool road trip all in all. I'll post some pics when I figure it out. I've loaded them on photobucket, but it just comes up a picture of a little red x when transfering to here.

Go to your photobucket page, open the pic you want to post. Look on the right hand side and you'll see "IMG code, bulletin boards and forums". Left click that once...and it'll say 'copied'.

tab over to CK5 and start a new thread...and in the reply box right click and select paste.

Done...

I was averaging about 19-20mpg(us units). Think I spent about $6-700 on fuel. Paid anywhere from $3.64/gallon to a high of $4.17. I've got all the receipts, so I'll add it up one day when I feel ambitious. :)

I'd guess it's a 700R-4...I don't think the civilian K5's with the 6.2 ever got any other tranny.

Didn't some get the SM465...like very rarely?

I understood the SM 465's only ended up in the 3/4 ton's and 1 tons (with the 6.2)
