Bought me a K30 3+3, service body! {new pics}

lol, cant wait to see what you do with it, looks nice already, would look really cool with some new HD wheels on it...

Im jealous...

HD wheels would be nice, Hummer h2 rims with the black center cap would look REALLY nice

Weld Racing wheels would look even better.

That thing is sweet. I think 2-4" of lift and some 33x12.5's would make it look even better.

Exactly!....:wink1:

Ok, here goes Super Newbie question!!

Can I fit a 33x12.50 tire with a 16.5x9.75" on this truck without a lift? I know it can be done with a K5, but for some reason this truck doesn't look to sit quite as tall, with the weight of the CC and .Ute bed maybe?

Found some Weld Scorpio V's 16.5x9.75" used for $250, and have some just ok Cooper 33x12.50's on it.

Before you all jump in...."add a lift"... this is a work truck guys, no lift. Just looking for something that will look super sharp with the fresh paint and provide a smidgin' more floatation getting through the rice field.

seriously, if you want to fit them, and will have problems doing so, add a 1" block to the back, and a zero rate to the front. should clear just fine then. that is, providing the wheels have a decent backspacing.

The question is if they are going to rub at full turn. I'm not worried about flexing or anything, as it won't see that stuff.

They have a LOT of backspacing, this should help, but how much is the questin.

I've seen a few K30's with no lift and 33's on 9.75" wide rims before. All of the fenders still looked good and not crumpled up either. These were all just street driven trucks though.

Matter of fact, the '83 K30 I've got my eyes on buying is bone stock and rides on 33's and 9.75" wide rims. It looks good and doesn't rub either.

If I were you, I do the ORD 1" body lift and 1" zero-rates while leaving the stock suspension alone. Just netting that little 2" of lift is just "insurance" to clear the new tires. Plus its cheaper this way and will look good, too.

there is a guy here in scottsdale with one just like it, he is running the military 38 inch michilins on it...looks bitchin:bow:

Bobby, listen to absolutely nothing the above poster says. he'll just lead you to hacking the fenders. :deal:

IDK jeremy... im not a fan of those wheels either:crazy:

And probably get him to french in some buttugly tail lights, too.....:doah:

Those arent my favorite Welds, but they'd be hard to pass on at that price. You're probably going to need 1-2" of lift to clear when your flexing with that wide of wheel. I just installed some 33x 12.5's on my truck with 4" of Bs and they are fine on road, they actually make the ride much better than the 31's that were on the truck, and bring the gears into a broader range.
