I've wanted the infamous crew cab SRW K30 since I was wee-high. One poped up for sale just down the street from my grain mill. Paid $4350 for it, it's got 93K original miles, 454ci, new Th400 with 5K on it and has some sort of nice shift kit, 4.10 ratio, and I don't think I need to describe what is in it for drivetrain parts.:wink1:

If you look real close you can see there is no giant gas guage, thats over in the "four" where it belongs with the tach where it belongs.:D

The truck will look completely different in about 10 days...;)

 That is "one" of my dream trucks! I like the ute bed to.

Nice find. Those ute beds are great for storing stuff, but look ugly, and suck if you want to wheel it. Keep posting progress pics

do tell of the plans Bobby...
Well... Paint is a for sure thing, I mean look at it, it's ugly! :haha: The paint is actually in really good shape, since it was kept inside and only used as a camping truck. I think that is why there is zero cracks in the dash. The same dash in my K5 looks like a road map, there is so many cracks in it.:doah:

With that, it's getting paint. What color is still not quite decided.

Wheels and tires for sure, it's getting something that is aluminum with rubber thats slightly taller and a smidgin' wider. Although, with the 31x10.50's cranked to either direction, there isn't much room left for a much bigger tire.:doah:

Lights, it going to get an orange light on top the cab like tow trucks have.

It's going to get a small portable gas powered welder and an air compressor. Torch setup, and all of my tools that are in my other service truck(anyone want to buy an F600?):D .

I actually think it will look pretty good having the 'ute bed and some decent wheels/tires under it. It will have a "go anywhere and work on something look..":haha: But yeah, utility beds aren't the cutest things...but I never would have bought it with a standard bed.

It won't get wheeled, just some mushy ground here or there to get to equipment.

I dont care what others are saying, I would do the same thing and make it a sweet repair tow rig. I love the ute bed.

when would be the best time of day for me to come steal it?

Maybe I'll come down there with it to pick up your diesel welder...:wink1:

What I'd like to do down the road, depending on the oil usage of this current engine ( it is 25 yrs old), I eventually plan on a 6BTA Cummins repower.

dude, put a shortbed on it, sky it, and have a blast. screw that work truck stuff! :haha:

give it time. there is a big crew cab project in the works. the truck is in hand, 12"lift soon, 3"body in hand, need to get 47 ltbs to finish. :eek1: :doah: :D

i say that 3+3 needs some 33 14 boggers on welds and fender trimming, it'll ge through that mushy ground

Very nice. Even has Spicer lockouts, too.

No way, it's getting the Silverado chrome fender trim added along with the new paint, and a nice set of basically stock size tires. It's not a 4wheeler, it's going to be a clean work truck. Fender trimming and "clean" are at two different ends of the spectrum.:haha:
