Bought my first actual running M1008 today

Going back tomorrow with a friend to drive it back home. Kind of stoked as its got 82K on it and runs great. This is my first diesel so bear with me if I start asking stupid questions.

And no, I'm not gonna use the search feature because I want actual answers to my own personal questions.

Work truck, parts hauler/chaser, driver, etc.

Pretty much leave it the fock alone. It drives, steers, handles and brakes very nicely. Don't want to screw this one up.

Well, I'm the 2nd owner per the registered title when I get it in but I got it from a guy who buys them from the auction sites and refurbishes them.

And no, its not that one dude who sells them for outrageous prices on eBay either.

I paid $3K for this one. Kicker is, the guy didn't know what he had. He had it listed as a 3/4 ton and kept repeating that while talking with me. I didn't say anything to him to let him know.

He got this one out of Ft. Riley and put 2 new batteries in it along with a new alternator, few wiring pieces and thats about it. Runs like a top and handles like a dream.

Awesome Scott. And great price and I think you got a steal there. Pics will be nice to see.in stock form the 6.2 diesel is real simple to work on and should be easy to figure out for a guy like you.

Have you seen it in person yet? I've seen a couple where the dana60 was pulled and sold, with a 44 going in its place...to most they'd never know the difference...

Change the starter relay under the dash if it has not been done allready.
