Bout' time for an updated Crew Cab pics thread!!

My 82 Crew Cab SB Project

Here are the pics of my GMC as it is right now. I got alot of work to do yet. But I will get there. Still trying to decide who I am gonna have do the body work and such. Plus debating between a stock or cowl induction hood. Plus all the drivetrain is still in two sepeate vehicles. I am currently stuck at the body shop choice and finishing the firewall so I will have A/C and not just heat. The color of the truck will be the same as the doors and fenders. At first I didnt care for it but it has grown on me.Let me know what you think.

That thing is garbage:wink1: why don't you let me take it off your hands for you:D .

Seriously though, that is gonna be a nice looking truck. Don't look bad the way it sits now. Good luck with it:waytogo:

Oh and behind my crew cab is my 77 K10 with a 454/TH350 and NP208. I have owned over ten years and it was given to me as a basket case from Dad when I was 15. He has since passed away earlier this year from cancer so now the truck has even more meaning to me. I need to replace the cab on it since the rockers he & I replaced are falling apart again. All in good time though. That truck will never be sold as long as I am around. So if anyone has a clean 73-78 air cab that they want to sell please hit me up. I will travel aways to get a really good one. I just need to find the time or make the time. Thanks Again

You ever heard of trucks gone wild. there are several trucks down there on huge lifts that work very well. particularly a ford called papa smurf. To say that they dont function makes no sense. sure they do, they function for their intended purpose, MUD. Not everyone wants a trail rig. Personally i think a huge truck with huge tires looks great and works great in the mud. I just so happen to be building both. My k5 is my mud truck but within the legal limits so i can drive it on the street, have a 77 that is a trail rig and then im gonna build a CC with duramax and make as big as i can cause its never gonna see the road.
so functionality is what the builder intends to use it for. Not what everyone else thinks it should be used for.

there are tons of them to be had for cheap and free here in az, they are real easy to find in the 2wds here, check out craigslist. the shipping would not be as bad as most would think. somethig like forward air maybe.

whats the blue truck in the second picture way to the left without a front clip?

EDIT: what color is your CC cause it looks remarkably the same color as my dad's old 79 Blazer

OK. A mud truck is a mud truck. But really, we were talking about the red/black crewcab stepside. I'd tend to peg it as a street/trail/cruise/Lowe's truck, in which case less lift would work better.

The one in the way back is an 84 K10 that is a parts ride. She is rough to say the least. As far as the name of the color I am unsure. It is a stock color off the 91 Suburban that parted out for it. I will be finding out though because I am going to have the truck painted that color. I plan on using that style trim and maybe putting a dark blue across the bottom. Its all in the air right now time will tell.

I think its junk you want me to come haul it off for you?:haha: Im jealous Id like to have one like that. I dont know about those mirrors though my friend had those same mirrors on his K5. The always seamed way too close to me as i drove and they collected mud between the window and mirror. Other than that awesome build keep the pics comeing.

Here is a picture of my crew cab with its new lift and tires. There are a few more pictures of it and my Blazer in the link below.

I don't have a cool old crew cab like you guys but it's still a crew cab so hopefully you'll let me in the club. :)

It seems to always have a bed full of stuff or a trailer behind it.

Maybe someday it will grow up to be like Willyswanter's. :wink1:

Everyone gives me crap for it but when we're at the dunes sometimes I take it out for a spin and it does surprisingly well. I keep it in 4 high and limit the tranny to 2nd and it goes anywhere I want it to.
I don't have the $$$ to copy Jason's rig... even in it's earliest stages. :)
