Brake Caliper Brackets, 14 Bolt.....$45 for CK5

You could advertise in magazines and get favorable articles, but then you'd have to charge $90 a pair for the brackets to cover the ad costs. :rolleyes:

I confirmed that these brackets do fit the "later" 1984 14bsf axle and not the 1981 flatter style slide off brake drums.

To fit my 15 in steel wagon wheels I'll have to get some 1.5 in spacers.

I'll post up when I'm all done.

By the way, I weighed the pieces as i removed them and the weigh savings is astounding.

Brake Drum: 40 lbs.
Brake Shoes and Stuff: 12 lbs.
Drum backing plate: 10 lbs.
Total: 62 lbs.

Brake rotor: 20 lbs.
Caliper: 10 lbs.
Bracket: barely registers.
Total: 30 lbs.

Quite the difference in rotational and sprung weight saving doing this!!

Just to set the record straight, the other company advertising here that sells parts that look exactly like ours dosen't buy them from us, he used to and now he copies them exactly...

Glad to here on the SF working! So just to confirm, that means that the 14blt FF brackets will work on the later model 14bolt sf? Im guessing by using stock front studs? Anything else we need to know?

Yes, I used the stock front studs, had to order them from autozone. Otherwise, it's a straight up install.
My 15x10 inch steel rims wont' fit with out alot of caliper grinding and a 1.5 inch spacer. Figured 8-lugs aren't supposed to have 15 inches wheels anyway.
I do however have some new 17X9 inch MT Classic 2's that I'll have tires mounted on in two weeks (I'm outta town intill then).
My good friend Matt made some DOT certed brake lines to go from the hard lines to the calipers.
Will update then.
