Hello all,
My name is Steve. I own a 1990 K1500. I want to do a restoration...starting with the frame. I think this might be referred to as a "frame off" restoration, but im not sure. There is tons of rust and I have zero experience .... But lots of time and ample resources. I intend to do as much as I can myself. Im buying a MIG welder, big air compressor, and What ever else I need. I look forward to getting all sorts of help from all you experts out there. Thanks for reading. Where do I go next to post about what I've done so far and what's next?

Start a build thread in " the driveway" forum.

For good reference and good measure read through some of the others.
Greg72 has a "might as well " thread of epic proportions

thx again for the links and advice. I'm going to post a few pictures later and explain what I have done so far. Before I get started for the day, I would like to know how to remove a quarter panel. I have a cutting wheel...but no welder yet. The left rear quarter panel is definitely being replaced by a new part, so I want to start there and learn the technique. I started with a cutting wheel in between the door jam and where I think the qp joins, but I'm not sure. After I show the pics I'm sure I will be headed in the right direction. Thx in advance for your patience....like I said...I have never even attempted anything remotely close to this. But with luck and hard work, I can have the truck ready in a year, maybe a year and a half.
