i'm going to take some of the fluid down to the shop tomorrow when i take it in for the check up, i'll ask them about it. i'll post up tomorrow night to let you know what they tell me.

how much fluid does a 208 hold, i just looked at the bucket i drained the fluid into and there was just over 6 quarts of fluid in there, i thought the 208 only took about 4 quarts or so, i know when i filled it this morning i only put about 4 1/4-4 1/2 quarts back in there, if it was overfilled, then i know why the fluid was so foamed up.

Sounds like you have a bad tranny to transfercase seal.
I got about 5 quarts out of mine when I drained it. I hear its a common problem.

well, the tranny is still full. i kept track of how much fluid i put in there today. in a couple of weeks or so i'm going to drain it again and see what the fluid looks like and measure how much comes out. if it's over full again, i'll just take it back to the shop that did the work on it and have them figure out what's wrong and let them fix it. gotta love those full warranties.

here's the deal on the pink tranny fluid. the mechanic at the shop told me that they steam cleaned the t-case to clean it out. so there's where the water came from. and also he said that he thinks that he filled it on the bench before he put it in, so that would explain the extra fluid. that's what he told me anyway, can you fill the 208 when it's out of the truck?

i'm not too worried about it, the way i see it is, no harm no foul. that, and the fact that the owner knocked about $200 off of my bill. he didn't charge me for the new hard parts he put in, the fluid and then didn't make me pay the remaining $55 that i didn't pay when i picked it up.
