hello all i am a newb here so please bear with me(newb to k5 not to cars or repairs)

hey i hope i posted this in the right section if not please move. I recently broke the transfer case rear slip yoke on my 86 k5, i was wondering can i just replace the slipyoke without dismounting the transfer case? will their be any leakage of oil? is it even possible or do i need to take off the entire transfer case, to make this repair? thanks for any input keep in mind i have no garage and low funds at the present moments, so ill be doing this on the street a la mexican!!!!:D

You can pull the slip yoke out of the transfer case, but expect to lose some oil. Might be a good time to replace the seal. Be sure to block your wheels!
