at the muffler shop, sadly had to run manifolds for it to work out since I was not willing to dump money for headers when the motor is getting pulled after a few months...helloooooo 6.0:D

err...

when does it end:dunno:

I hope to post some running vids today.. damn work is geting in the way of play again:doah:

plan of staying with the factory FI just plan to have it tuned, and upgrade the fuel system to meet its needs.

got it running..5 am here in scottsdale,

a rod knock or a knock of some sort on the pass side head..then it went away.. one injector is not firing, but oddly enough it does fire while im cranking..I cant see an injector fire at certain points and not at others. its not random at all. odd.. ill play with it. also a bran new water temp guage is not working/and or broke. err

and as usual my vids make me look drunk!

sounded like a lifter tick to me, and maybe the fuel pressure is low and that is why it works during cranking?

eh..

more than a tick

popped the valve cover..hmm all is good, checked for loose rockers..um nope

oh..wait I am missing a push rod:doah:

so I grab my snap on magnet and it comes out..all but 2 inches, so I go back in and its still in there:laugh:

so I run and go get some crane's push rods and guides, I upgraded from the 5/16 to the 3/8 ones for some piece of mind.

then I go to drop them in and change the push rod guides out to new ones..and the push rod droped into the black hole of no where..:doah:

so now I have to pull the intake and I find the lifter just chillin off to the side..

So I feel really really lucky at this point.

an hour later and a trip to the parts store and I have the intake back on, new gaskets and im ready to rock again..

still having issues with the holley projection though:crazy:

minus the hydro assist this thing is done, im fabbing the floors tonight, which is a pain! im trying to make them clean and removable to access the front driveline, but damn it sucks..

also wired up a horn, my new toy:D new starter on the big block and a remote solenoid, finished the rear coil over mounts, lots of little stuff..

but, I cant get the thing to run consistantly:mad:

Ive already been throught the trouble shooting guide and tried and re-tried everything . I tossed a carb on and its insane, great idle, great throttle responce..:D

hook the pro-jection up.. and one day it runs and loves me, next day it kills me, how can I want to run this when I cant keep it running in a shop.. I cant even begin to think of the behavior or a headache on the trail:crazy:

im pretty sure im ripping this set up off the motor and going to propane now, as an added bonus I can adapt the propane onto the 6.0 and the set ups can support up to 800 ponies..

doing two 10 gallon tanks and ill keep a spare in the truck bed with the trailer. im so bummed I have to start over on something again:(

im thinking I may run my holley truck advenger for a little while so I can go play.

the work truck is killing all my toy funds right now:doah:

thoughts on propane?

Propane is a good option but you will loose some HP's. Talk with Marv & Matt. They both have/had projection on there trucks. Matt still has it and has some idle issues to but he may be able to help you through them some. Marv also did alot of work with the P-jection on the Funbuggy.

If you want Propane talk to the dude on Pirate GotPropane or whatever. He has been doing propane on rigs for a long time. Propane is cool but it also sucks for being able to stop in and top off the tank on long outings. It also looses HP's and sucks for MPG's but is fairly cheap and runs at any angle.

I will personally stick with FI but I have had the Propane thoughts in the past.

There is also www.propaneguy.com
Thats where I got all my stuff.
$630 for a dual carb setup. I just had to supply the hoses and tank.
I was very happy with the way it ran. The only down fall to me was the filling locations. As far as mpg and power, I doubt you would notice. Just adjust your timing and run colder plugs.
