Building Blazer still

Mostly just getting the tune correct on the motor now and making sure the transmission was done correctly. I have torn apart just about everything they did and put the correct bolts in, Tranny mounts back in that were completly missing ect..
The motor had 30 deg of timing at idle and 57 deg of timing at 3500rpms to 5500 rpms, something very wrong with the tune!

You added another post while I was typing. So never mind on what still needs to be done. Glad it will be ready.

Do you have a shop? Looking for someone that does good work if I do not have time to do it myself. I work alot!
I fixed alot of the problems but having the guy in Ft Collins tune it on a Dyno. He has a chassis dyno and is great at tuning & transmission work.

Slow down. I can't type that fast.

Never had an official shop. Just worked on stuff at my house. Sold it all to travel.

Next week I am building one 40's COE cab out of 3 bad ones. Hauling what I need to his house.

Lol, sorry man!
Thats cool, maybe if I have problems in the furture I can contact you and see if you want to make some extra money? If your around and willing?

Before the end of June. After this cab is done, only thing on my plate is a trip to DC for 5 days.

Fuel money to Wyoming. Enough for an RV park and a Lytton extra. I would be in. If you have a place I could work. That's usually the issue.

Heck ya, I have a nice shop. I will be in touch, maybe if mine stays together we can get my buddies rig together for Blazer Bash this year!
I will let you know!

Raiderblaz,

Maybe you should take all that horse power to Deulings Dune Bash in Michigan, as well. It would be cool to see.

Dam...wow, did you ever run it hard? That would be pretty hard to run that much timing for long without damage if you were hard on the throttle.

Really, Mike, it would be huge if you could swing that!
You can nail the throttle for more than a second or two on the dunes!

No I did not nail it but the guy tuning on it did! He even ran 250 shot of NOS! Made me nervous as hell when I saw it and now that guy will not answer or return my phone calls. I have the blazer with an expert and he is redoing everything now and making sure nothing was hurt. I guess the guy that worked on my Blazer is now going bankrupt so getting money back may not happen but if he damaged my motor he is going to pay one way or another!

Let me know a little more about the Dune Trip to see if I can swing it. What tire should I run in the dunes? 44" seem a bit big for sand.

Those pitbulls would be perfect at the dunes. As would your rig :thumb:

I'd love to check out your rig, it's one of my all time favorites for sure. And it'd be great to meet you dude!

If you came, Dave, kellyjohn, and Kert. Literally all of my favorite rigs would be here!!! (Except Horton, but I know Eric can't swing that or have it done in time.)

Man that much initial timing had to wreak havoc on that starter. And if its not damaged by that NOS I would have faith in that thing in the :zombie18: apocalypse no problem. To say something is wrong with the tune is an understatement. That is almost to the point of having the beer goggles on while setting the dizzy.

Did you really name me as "one of your all time favorites"?

I am honored to be named among site gurus like Dave, Kurt, Eric, and Raiderblaze!!:eek1:

I'm not worthy.......:shame:

The dunes will be an awesome meet, greet, and wheel weekend!!!:woot:

I"m sure that 555 has some stout pieces in it Mike, I would think it would be ok, but detonation and nitrous can do some damage to the ring lands in a hurry....

Hells yah I do bud! You and Kelly's rigs are inspiring fab work. And I likes fab!:pimp:

Thanks Deuling!
The dates you have the Dune tripped planned for I work. The first three weeks of July I am working so I most likely can not make it this year but I will try for next year as long as I have time to plan!:waytogo:

Yes the Motor is built very good but there was a sound coming from it that was odd, I think it was the bend in the new exhaust after the collector on the drivers side. I have the shorty headers on it and the bend they put in it pinched down the exhaust a bit so I think that is what is creating a harmonic sound. I will know for sure shortly. :waytogo:
