Building Blazer still

The plan before Blazer Bash is to Install PSC Full Hydro Steering, Install the rear ARB Locker, get Front Body work done & put in a stereo of some kind.
I have some parts if anyone is interested in buying. Front Dana 60 Detroit True Trac Locker, 14 bolt Detroit Locker, 411 gears for both. ORD High Steer, ORD X-over steering, PSC Hydro assit steering system. Just ask if you need anything, I have a 396, 468 BBC, SM465 Trans, 205 Transfer cases, just let me know! We have basically built my buddy Johns GMC with left over or take off parts from mine and I have a bunch more just sitting around right now and I keep upgrading.:waytogo:

After new motor was installed I have been having a little brake issues. When I am in Low/Low the Blazer powers right through my brakes. Kind of scary when loading on the trailer. I think I found the solution.

"If you have a big cam and low vacuum is making it tough for your power disc brakes to work properly then this electric vacuum pump kit will solve your problems! A minimum of 16 inches of vacuum is critical to ensure that your power disc brakes are functioning and this kit ensures that your vacuum stays above that level so you will never have to worry about losing your brakes when you need them the most. The system automatically activates when the vacuum falls below that critical level and turns off when the engine is producing enough vacuum."

I am going to try it out. My guess is that this is going to work great for me & solve my problem!

Very nice. Now get a night shot of them on :waytogo:

No, I ran out of time and did not get them wired yet. Should be easy wiring since they turn on with a remote instead of a switch! Kinda cool. I will get a night shot when I get back home from work!

That sounds cool! And do you have a link to this vac pump thing? Sounds cool as well!

Is there a way to have this thread moved to the build section of the Forum? That would be great if a Mod can do that for me since I put it in the wrong place! I'm Polish!!

My bone stock 5.7 will drive through the brakes if I just rest my foot on the throttle. Roasted by back brakes when I left the line lock on in Moab.

But if it does it at idle, that would be a problem.

I am geared so low in low/low the thing will idle up the trailer without any gas. I went to stop and she kept going so I put it in neutral. Only going 1/2 mph but when I can't stop completly I don't feel in control. I did not have this problem before the big motor install so I am sure this is the problem.

My brakes hold my rig well. Stock 60 brakes, standard 14ff disk conversion, S10 vacuum booster and 88 1-ton chevy master I grabbed when pulling my TBI off that truck. I run the front brakes direct though a electric line lock and the rear brakes though an adjustable prop valve, though a ball valve then through cutting brakes to each wheel. 454, th400, 203/205, 5.38s.

I blew the Master Cylinder in Moab in May before the New Motor was in and everything was ok. I put in the 555 BBC and at idle the brakes do not want to stop the Rig, when I am moving the brakes work fine. Only difference from your drivetrain and mine is my 205 is a Lo Max 3 to 1 but with my 44" tires we are probably really close. My master cylinder is stock. The whole brake system is stock except for the Cutting brakes and of course the disc conversion on the 14 bolt. Do you think I need to do something else? In Moab with the 468 BBC I did not have brake problems after I installed the new Master Cylinder. What do you think? I ordered the electric vacuum kit from summit already but if I am wrong any help is appreciated. Thanks!:waytogo:
