Building Blazer still

Hydroboost works awesome. My truck came with it; my bro-in-law and buddy Nick (B_to_C) both swapped in hydroboost from the PnP and they both are glad to have done it. B_to_C can lock up his 40s on pavement no problem; with his old vac boost setup that wasn't possible.

Is Hydroboost ran thru the Power Steering Pump? I am going to Full Hydraulic steering. So am I doing the same thing with the Electric Vacuum Kit. I only know enough mechanics to hurt my head! Thanks for your help!!

Do you still have the factory proportioning valve in place? Not sure if I missed that.

I am excited for my new brake setup, not going to run a booster at all.....

Yes factory proportioning valve is in place. Everything is stock from a 76 K5 Blazer. Only new lines, new Master C & Cutting Brakes.

Replacing that parachute all day is going to be a pain.:D

I will hire an band of midgets to follow me around to re-pack it over and over. :D

With disk in the back. You need to replace the pro portioning valve.

This. Get a basic needle valve prop valve from summit, jegs, etc and fun the front direct and the rears though the prop valve. When I adjusted mine I got rolling good and stood on the binders and kept dialing down the valve till the front/rear locked up equally on the dirt. I then marked the knob with a paint pen and counted how many turns out it was then marked that number too so if someone plays with it I can reset pretty quick.

Yeah. In a factory set up the fluid would leave the pump into the hydroboost and then onto the steering gear. Both the hydroboost and steering gear have independent return lines back to the pump.

On B_to_C's truck we mounted to powersteering pumps on the motor, one for the steering and the other for the hydroboost. Reason for that was avoiding the potential of loosing both brakes and steering from a single pump failure. Which happened to me on Holy Cross several years ago. Since then I've taken to running a cooler and I have a temp gauge to monitor the system.

So after talking with the shop that is helping me build the Blazer the sensus it that I do not have enough vacum at idle with the new motor. I will let you know the solution to the problem when we get it fixed. Trying the electric vacum pump from Summit Racing first. Thanks for everyones help!

Decided to up grade the front end before I start breaking things with the new Horse Power of the 555. Going PSC full Hydro steering, Crane Chromoly Knuckle Kit http://shop.cranehiclearance.com/product.sc?productId=10&categoryId=5 Yukon Chromoly Hubs & RCV's Ultimate 300M Dana 60 CV Axles http://www.rcvperformance.com/categories-cv-axles.aspx?catID=RCVP_ULT_300M_CV_AXLES_ALT

This should truely be a bomb proof or I like to say Polish proof front end! Everyone is telling me I am going to bust stuff with 650hp now and I am hoping to prove them wrong. Hell if this stuff works for the Rock Bouncer Hill Climber "Tim Cameron" It will last forever for me!:haha:Look up Tim on Youtube, he is nutz:eek1:

That's a nice list of parts. Going to use a single or double ended cylinder? Myself and ssyork use Virginia 4x4s double sheer arms. His are on Reid knuckles and mine are keyed on my Solid knuckles. We both have single ended cylinders on our 60s (I am building rockwells with doubles now)

Going with the Double Ended Cylinder with the 44" tires & Stazworks Rims. Getting the stress off the frame. I decided to do this then looked at the knuckles and wanted to strenghten them up then I looked at the axels. Lol it doesn't seem to stop! I don't believe there will be anything else I can do to strenghten the D60 anymore than what I am doing. So maybe this time when I say I'm done wth the front I may be done with the front!:dunno:

Have you looked into the bronze kingpin bushings and plastic spindle bushings?
