Built a monster... Cut the front sheetmetal

front fenders are getting the knife tomorrow. I'm not using anything even close to a stock bed.. and theres no inner fenders. I'm actually not that concerned about tire clearance. With the axle moved forward, I should have enough room at the firewall, the sheetmetal on the front of the truck is strictly optional anyway... I don't foresee any problems relating to that.

Yeah, I have to pull through the carport to get to the garage. I already had to take the light bar off and broke the antenna hitting the carport. One day coming home I decided to romp it pretty hard pulling the drive and when the front end raised up my visor hit the damn roof and cracked it a little. Needless to say my wife wasn't very impressed.

Big Island, Hilo side. 15c isn't THAT much when you're already paying over $3/gallon. When I first moved here 2 years ago, I paid more for gas to fillup in San Diego to get my car to the shipper than I paid when I filled up on the island 2 weeks later.

You got a hook up to get your inspection sticker? Since you are local it prolly no big deal eh? Looks nice by the way. I am looking at 56s front and rear on my K5s.

I used to think my truck was rather big but now all my friends rigs are way bigger than mine.
So now I will go with the Sammys on the trail :p: .
The latest big one is Mackan with his Furd :eek1: /Caddy/Volvo on 44" boggers

I can sit underneath the truck.. hunched over a bit, but SIT under it.

lol just reminded me of a time i need to weld my buddys hitch on, i sat underneith his truck on a swivle chair and welded it in. he has a k30 with 10" rear lift and 8" front

You should see the one I wouldn't post of him:doah: . he was all ready to go wheeling until he had to move those heavy arse tires onto the trailer in the heat of the day. He got over it real quick and enjoyed the hell out of wheeling after almost a year.

Here it is with the front fenders cut. Made the choice of eliminating the marker light completely. Cutting to the bottom of the light just wasn't going to be sufficient.

nice tires but not a fan of cut fenders like that.. even a 4 imch lift or 6 inchw ould be cheap enough and not a cut like that... just make them straight so they dont look that bad

Thats somewhere between 5-6" of lift, and the axle moved forward. I haven't cleaned up the edges yet, and I will be dressing them with molding. It will look much better in the not too distance future.

I'd loke to see someone fit 42's with no lift... now that would be some cutting!

edit... I think I realized what you mean by 'cut it straight'.. you mean carry the top of the wheel well level to the front of the fender. I'd love to, but it ends up in the middle of the headlight!

ya thats what i meant... im not critisizeing your work by any means... none at all... if any constructive critism id wheel it... take the lights out and run kc lights... brighter and i dought if you will run that truck down the road to worry about brights?

Actually, it's being built to be very streetable, because my last truck, which was only 4" with 31's was so rough, I couldn't get an inspection on it. This truck will be my daily driver in about 2 months!

OK, special friend inspection, and I'm moving to Florida in a month, which doesn't have inspection. Just have to keep the cops on the road happy.

yes we dont have inspection or anything here in michigan... i was only bothered once in my 2000 gmc quad cab with 11 inchs of lift and 38s by an ass hole cop that got me for more then the lift... hed me pulled over for other reasons and he went to town on me

whereabouts in florida are you moving to? If your gonna be in south florida i've got a couple spots to show you
