I built tube doors for the front of my crew cab this week, I still have to build the rear ones. I built them from schedule 40 pipe and some plate steel, I used factory latches that I cut down to fit. They bolt up just like the factory doors too.
might want to consider a small lower bar with a few inches of sheet metal to keep random things from escaping. i was running doorless one day and my cell phone fell out of my pocket and would have hit the ground at 70mph if i hadn't grabbed it quickly.
I'm gonna put a ledge along the bottom opening. As to why not go doorless, I drive it on the street often and my kids ride. They took a couple of days working after work, I started on the rear today.
