Alright, well its getting pretty close to get a bumper built for the front of my k5, I went ahead and designed the basic idea of what i'm after, but i'm stuck on the stinger portion of it. Here are some 3d renderings i've done, and i was wondering what stinger you would run. The first couple are renderings of the bumper with a flatter stinger, and the last one is with a more round stinger. Thanks for your opinions

im thinking of going with a flat square a little pulled in at the bottoms like robby gordons trophy truck bumper have not seen that done much.

i always thought the flatter ones match body lines and shapes a little bettter.

Round can look good too if done right.

one suggestion, if you can pull the stinger brace tubes around the corner, you'll be a lot stronger on corner hits. Just a suggestion.

One thing is seams like everyone does with regard to the stinger supports is run them directly in front of the head lights. Dont block your lights, it looks stupid.

cool, i appreciate all the suggestions, as they will all be taken in for consideration when it comes down to actually getting it built. thanks guys

I dont like the squared look. Just my .02.
In the end its your opinion that counts, the one you like the best is what you should go with.

If your talking for the stinger, I agree, I like a full radiused stinger myself, but two each his own like you said.

ya, i was playing with the 3d model at work today, and i went with a larger radius on the round stinger and it actually looked fairly decent, so i will probably end up going that route.

Watch out for the turn siginals too..Mine are blocked.

A shot of my bumper. Did'nt block a thing. I did finally get the passenger side tube between the head light and blinker in too. Just not before this pic was taken.

IMO, it depends how tall the stinger hoop will be. If it will be above the hoodline, then a round stinger looks better. If it will be at or below the hoodline then a more squared off stinger usually looks best.

rdn2blazer, that bumper is beastly!

So is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Agree about the stinger.

I think a truck like yours with, what 44's? Should look as little like a pre-runner as possible. I'd shorten the "stinger" to just about the middle of your grilll.

But you know oppinions - there like belly buttons - everyone has one.

i agree that you shouldnt cover your lights, i also like the rounded style

i have a little more work to do, but

stinger is 1 3/4 DOM, and theres a 2x3 box tube in between frame rails, the rest is a little smaller than 1 3/4, not much, must be metric, didnt care, since i wasnt bending it, price was good, freebie
