here are some new pics of the bumper I posted last week. this is my first official tube project I have made. has worked out great so far. I still need to do the winch and mount bracketry and Im going to add a tube that connects at the end of the bumper and goes under the core support and ties in right behind where the stinger is connected. that will give alot of strength to a side impact and if its up against a rock it should not bend or push in with that tube gusset there.

That turned out nice, and thats your first time bending tube?

the only piece of tube I bent befor this was one bend in a piece of 2 in .188 wall dom tube for my other bumper I started a while ago. I melted my aluminum guides, so I machined 4340 steel guides to handle the heat we need to put to that heavy of wall of tube to bend it. I have not tried to finish bending that piece of tube yet since making the 4340 guides.

so yes this is my first time bending anything really. and thank you for the compliment.

Looks nice, I like the bling factor.

bling? if you mean the brighteness of the tube, thats just the tube finish.

ha, must be nice to live in cali. if I made that a week ago and even left it in my garage without painting it, it would be rusty :haha:

looking good, not a huge fan of it but I do like how you added side protection without blocking the side marker.

dude thats by far one of the 2 or 3 best looking bumpers ive seen on one of old trucks... this one and the ORD one, they're similar.

muddy, your my new best friend  , thanks man, and everyone for the props. I am having alot of fun using my bender finally. hell I had the thing for almost two years before I even used it for the first time on this bumber. just did not ever set it up till now. plus I didn't powder coat it right away. I dig the ORD bumper too. my next one will be a bit different, and be DOM tubing too. i uesd hrew tube to just practice with this time. I thought I would waste some tube on this one. didn't waste any.

Hey, if your first came out that sweet, it's scarey to think how your stuff will look in the years to come!!!! Damn nice!!!!

Yours looks way better than the ORD bumper IMO. I like how you kept the top part level instead of tapering down as it goes to the center. It doesn't look like it's winking at me.

thanks man, they arn't totally level. I wanted a little bit of angle down but not so much that it intersected in the middle of the stinged down tube. then it would look stupid and it would run across the head light beam. when im sitting in the truck I see exactly 1/2 the diameter of the tube from the fender to the stinger and just the nose of the stinger. I dont think that will be a problem as far as obstructing my view. the straight on pic is deceiving since im standing lower then the truck so it looks like the top tubes are level. my driveway is higher then the alley I took the pic from. the side pic shows more down angle.

I'm surprised to see that this is made of tube.....

Knowing you, I figured you would bave machined the whole thing out of a single large block of steel!!!!! :D
