Bumper stickers that tell environuts to go suck a fat one?

I have to agree here, although I am guilty of using my K5 at 12-14 mpg for going to work. I drive 80-100 miles a day, but I don't like to drive the beast. Let's face it, there are more economical ways of getting back and forth. Until I get my Astro fixed, which has a well powered 4.3 and averages 22 mpg, I have to make do with what I have. I can't very well leave my wife and kids with nothing to drive, and she refuses to drive the K5.

If I could afford to, I would go buy a hybrid or something else that gets great gas mileage, and I would run it until it died. I don't have that luxury, but those that do, are not bad people because of it.

And, back on topic, I really want the "My truck is made from recycled parts" bumper sticker.

I don't think people that drive hybrids or other eco friendly cars are bad people, I just don't think those people should tell me that i have to drive the same thing they do, good for you if you do, but i don't have to. after all, I don't go around telling people that they should drive a K series because I think their cool, thats what I choose to drive on the weekends, only because I can't afford the gas for daily driving. If hippies don't like me, so be it, i don't like them either, but they have the same right to but a tree huger sticker on the back of their car, as i do to drive my tree killer.

btw i'm having the "I pollute less than Al Gore" sticker made tommorrow!:haha:

Nothing wrong with caring for the environment. I do and I feel most wheelers, dirtbikers, hunters ect. are the real environmentalists. Were the ones that spend time in the wilderness and really know and care about it. I think four wheelers are some of the only people that will clean up messes in the bush left by other people. What pisses me off is uninformed and ignorant people that will follow any environmental organization like sheep. Some organizations use environmental issues for political and personal gain and do nothing to help the environment.
I'll stop now before my local rant starts.

I have seen this one around town....

Shawn , you owe the guy with 50 mpg lots of kudos , especially when you went out of the way to never emission your Blazer .

Mine passed emissions Monday , had my new tags in the mail yesterday . And I still have that stay on designated trails sticker on the back bumper :thumb:

Wife's car gets 30 to 35 mpg and the jimmy when useable was getting 4, my daily driver a ford exploder gets 18 or so. New motor in the jimmy should boost the mileage a little and with as little as the jimmy is capable of being driven I am doing my part to conserve fuel.

We also recycle glass, plastic, aluminum, steel, magazines, and paper and I deliver it to the recycle place in a gas guzzler.

Now if I was to take an old car off the road, it is made of steel and over time will desinegrate (spelling), how long will it take a new fangled all plastic car to disappear in a landfill??? What about all those prius batteries. How much pollution does it take to build a new car and does that out weigh driving an older car releasing more emissions. Lets face it the technology is already there to run vehicles on trans fatty acids (vegetable oil) :eek1: . There are also ways of running vehicles on 1/2 water. The gas and oil industry pays lobbyists big money to stop some of these programs from being considered in the government.

How environmentally friendly is it to run an empty bus around a large city with just a couple people on board????

Bottom line there are problems with a lot of the things that we do and some of the things we do to combat the problems actually make it worse. Just do the best you can and be concious of your impact.

So I take my gas guzzling SUV to deliver recyclables and then hit the trail and pick up some trash to clean the planet and pollute the atmosphere all the way to the landfill, but then I am helping to keep people working by purchasing more gasoline than a prius. :doah:

Vegetarian: Indian for bad hunter

However I have been eating more salads lately, I blame paul. I also eat them cute little fishes too. By the way down to 247 lbs at last check. Adios, oh wait is it politically correct to say that???????

"Earth first! We Will Mine the rest of the planets later" is a very popular bumper sticker where I live.

Mine says "Earth First. We'll strip mine the other planets later."

My mom got it for me. :D

The one I had on my K-10 (which is now my trailer) says, "I'm only driving like this to piss you off"

But to my credit, I put very few miles on the Blazer. Maybe 20 or so a month. The Mazda (27-32mpg) gets 40-80 miles a day and the Goldwing (35-40mpg) gets the same if I drive it to work (which I did today cuz it's such a sexy day).

I've never seen this but it would be nice. How about...

"Back off hippy, I could brake at any moment for more gas" or
"I brake for SUV's, Conservatives, Loggers, Rush L, ect.", or the yellow triangle thing that says "Future SUV driver baby on board!"

Who is going to print the "recycled parts" bumper sticker? Consider me in line to buy one or two. I also think that everybody with a lift and big tires should run a "tread lightly" or similar sticker. If you are wheeling right you should be treading lightly and you might as well let people know that so they don't have an excuse to come after you. If wheelers were as organized as environmentalists we'd have a lot more trails to run. I don’t want to tell anybody what to do, but let’s face it - our hobby has a public image problem. Take care of the outdoors, drive nice on the road, etc. Be yourself; just try not to give those who hate us any more ammo.

I would like one that says "This vehicle burns 3 gallons of gas per week".

See, my point is that how far you drive every day has more impact on the environment / fuel costs than what you drive. But some guy who drives 50 miles to work in a hybrid feels snobby about being "green" and "low fuel consumption".

(I live 2.5 miles from where I work - the above statement only holds true if I don't go anywhere else)

I live a mile and half from work and ride a bicycle to work everyday unless it's raining. That's my contribution to the environment (and my wallet):D

how many v8 engines do you see puffin white or blue out the tail pipe?

now, every time you see a 2.2 caravan burning oil or coolant, put a nickle in your pocket. by the time you get where your going, you could buy a full tank of gas:thumb:

Yours is exactly the kind of attitude that will get 4 wheeling or any other kind of motorized vehicle fun off road banned. We need to fight for our rights to use public land responsibly.

I don't roll over and give up, I'm not French, but motivating the enemy is the wrong approach. My problem with the original post is that he wants to piss people off for the sake of pissing people off. This isn't a debate over what to drive or how to fight for our land. I live in an area where we are not allowed motorized access to public lands. We have a hard enough time fighting over private land. check the link in my sig line.

I would rock a "This vehicle uses 3 gallons of gas per week" sticker. it's smart and will make people think. same as the recycled parts one.

I too believe that we should all help in conserving all resources- at the same time I don't believe that my freedoms to destory what I want should be taken away. Can't believe that CA is buying cars back- I may take the two rust heaps I have in the driveway over the border and pick up a buck or two- but it would cost me more in gas!!

My favorite bumper sticker- "vegetarian is an old Indian word for lousy hunter"

cali has had the buy back progra for years, I peronally think its a great program for the beater cars that are not kept up anyways and are worth about that..it is however really funny for someone with a hot rod valued above 60k to get that letter:haha:
