Bought this summer 2006 or so with big plans. I think I was 19 and in college living at home with my parents. I told my girlfriend who would later be my wife that Iwanted a truck. I was driving a 91 camry like a fool and eventually got into my first squarebody. 77 c10. While I should have been studying I found ck5 while wrenching on my 77 shortwide that I was driving 80 miles a day to school. Sold it to my brother in law who ruined it. I picked the worst commuter but it was ****in sick. I realized that a K5 was more of what I wanted instead of a shortbed 2wd.
I searched for a while and found this beauty in the paper. Bought it from a rather large hispanic lady on the west side so naturally the seats were smoked.

Brought it home as you see it here. Pretty standard 6" kit with 3.08s, driveline vibes, and all. It had just had the 700r4 rebuilt and it will need more work later on.

found some 4.56 axles from muddinmanny if yall remember that.

mostly just cleaned it up and made it nice and got it nice to drive to school and work.

broke the frame just driving. almost drove it off a bridge when it wouldnt respond.

the 700r4 went out for the second time and it was out of warranty and it took me about a month to find and install a th400/205. At the same time I bought and installed a superduty rear driveshaft that fit PERFECT as is.

I get the trans filled with fluid and about to start it when it wont start.
All new ignition system dammit. couldnt diagnose anything back then.
Drove it one day to work and on my way home someone pulled out in front of me and I wrecked it.
Bent the front axle and broke the shackle on the passenger side.

Insurance made a deal that if no paint was involved it wouldnt total and id keep my blue title. DEAL
bought me some tons.
somewhere around here i bought my first house at 23. 2009 i think. Random k30s sprinkled in the pics now that i have my own driveway lol
coincidentally moved a few streets away from the guy i bought my 400/205 from and eventually bought his 60 with the cash i just got.

I I had DIY4X make me an abomb to fit my warn 12000 I bought from some crackhead. living in the hood rarely helped but that was nice.
Got the 60 built and ready to install with the abomb and some 52s.
By this time I had my dually to drive so the bun got to sit a little more and got cool parts.

The 60 swap consisted of 4.56 and a lockright with hydro assist and the abomb all at once.
So once it was done and beautiful what did i do?
stuck it in the mud and got it all nasty.

oh yeah back on 37s and it was really nice. i stuck it then too. It was never the same until the next rebuild.

So when it was at muddfest and i got it all nasty i drove it up on the trailer and shut it off.
Tried to start it the following morning to clean it and it was locked up like martha stewart. I put over 40k miles on it before this though. Not bad.
spun all the rod bearings on the passenger bank. No idea how but it happened.

So here comes the big block.

I wheeled it once with the big block 400 205 on tons and 4.56. Pretty cool. Got bit by rock crawlin bug really hard. So hard it bent my driver side bed side.

I had no ****en clue what i was doing rock crawling. Take a BDMT out on the trails and guess what happens. My big block overheats and i smash the hell out of it.

so this thing is too tall to wheel like I want. Needed more gear so I put in a 241. Liked that alot. too bad the th400 is a power sucking boot melter. I kept the 39s but went to double beadlocks and my 70hd. Lowered it considerably and it behaved much more trail friendly. Also bought muddinmannys be cool radiator which fixed my cooling issues. But id soon learn that my fans pulled more than the alternator could maintain the battery. I found myself carbureted at the top of a hill with no volts. no starty.
That would be the last of that. Got into a propane setup off a local wheeler buddy. Never did run all that well though.

now its finally tuned in and set up the way i like it. I wheel it and park it. wheel it and park it. I got it pretty good now. Somewhere in there i got rid of the awful slushbox and put in an nv4500. will never go back.

I can't link Facebook where I am at but look up Wolf Caves, LLC and you can see some of the terrain Matt wheels. another place is Trees Ranch.

That'd be sweet! I would love to do some wheelin out there with you guys. I lived out in Vernon t's for a while but didn't have my rig
 
katemcy rocks and wolf caves really offer some incredible wheeling. bring it down and show that new suspension off. It really is a blast here.

my first doubler i built. it had 32 spline front output with twin stick tails and cost a fotume so naturally it was gold. got poor and sold it.
