Obijuan, what clutch/pressure plate and slave cylinder setup did you use for the nv4500 swap?

Great update and lots of amazing pics! It looks like it really works good, looking forward to seeing you wheel it more.

It’s an early nv4500 that uses the AA bellhousing to use square body hydraulics. I’m pretty sure it’s a luk brand clutch assembly and is the same 94 and older nv4500 and sm465.
It’s been in there 15 years so I don’t know exactly what is in there.

15 years is too long to try and remember stuff. I can’t even remember what I did yesterday sometimes.. Thanks for the reply. I’ve got a ‘93 nv4500, that I’d like to swap into my 74. Slowly accumulating parts for it. I have an AA bell for it, and know those only allow for a 11” clutch assembly. Bunny is definitely one of my favorite builds.

I will say that I tried the center force and that hit the bellhousing so I clearanced it a little. Then the pads fell off the clutch disc in my hands and I put the luk in. It’s probably a 12” luk.

Right on, I was looking at the center force setups. Have read their quality has gone to shit. I need to check the AA site again for the clutch diameter limits for the bell.

Seat time is way more valuable than having all the right parts. Kinda wish I just fixed it and kept wheelin.

As someone with 10+ years without consistently wheeling a big truck, I can identify completely. I fully expect to ruin my straight body if I ever get into anything tough.

What was the problem with going up that? Too high of gearing to just crawl it? Or does that kind of rock just not have no traction? I've only ever been around utah rock crawling.

That place in general has tons of traction.
Main reason I was not able to make it was the hopping. My rear shocks have been an issue for a long time. The way I put em doesn’t work and it hops a lot because it’s uncontrolled.
Next was it rained and there was still a lot of water pooled from the prior day. It was on and off light rain that day too. I was third up to it so it was already slick.
Next the drop off on the left was scaring the shit out of me. The whole thing slopes to the left and the top right bumps you that direction.

I just wasn’t gonna give it enough chili that would put me off the edge. I’d rather pull cable and keep going.

I noticed the hopping, that's usually when guys pin it and blow the driveshafts out. That sideways tippy shit sucks, good idea to winch and keep enjoying your day.
