Will a windshield from a 1989 suburban fit into a 1973 k5? Iam trying to save some money because I am broke enough as it is and my k5s window is cracked to all getup.

it should fit, i belive all of the c/k serries front glass was all the same

They are the same size, but I believe that the 73 had the radio antena in the glass and the 89 did not.

You can get them either way from what I have seen.
Thanks I will give it a try. As for the antena the truck is to loud to hear the radio anyway.

I have an 84 K5 with a 91 sub windsheild in it.

They are the same...But when my wife got the new windshield put into my K5, the shop charged her $25 more than a pickup (same body style) and told her they were different. I guess it just shows that shops will take more money from a woman if they get a chance. Still, she got the windshield installed for $150...but I won't be going back.

So does brand really matter for quality? Other than being DOT approved. Can you even buy non DOT approved glass?
