Burglary, theft in San Bernardino desert....

Well, someone broke into my desert house, and both containers about 10-12 days ago. Took off with trailer, sandrail, winch, tools, couch, bunch of other stuff... And my toothbrush!
Pretty discouraged, and I've been working hard to fix the place up lately. Insurance situation isn't going to help at all. I'm pretty much Screwed.

6 break ins in the neighborhood in 2 weeks... And 1/2 mile away and a few weeks before that, they hit my friend and stole bikes, quads, tools, and seriously vandalized his place.

Anyway, I'm headed out there tomorrow because they broke in again during the week. Just got the blazer put back together a month ago- thank god I didn't leave it out there- Taking it and my step brother out there tomorrow and I'm going to drive a few tanks$ of gas thru it looking around the city and surrounding areas. Don't know if anything new was stolen- all the big/ expensive things I had there are gone anyway.

Anybody else out there and having problems? Advice? Anywhere on ck5 to post pics of it or specific websites to post stolen vehicle/ property stuff?
 
That sucks. Been through that myself.

You really should post on pirate4x4. The california presence is far higher and there's quite a few desert/so cal regulars on there. They have a stolen section on the forum...

Also hit up Craigslist. You'd be amazed these idiots will try to sell stuff on there they've stolen.

I hate thieves. My cousin has property in Landers, just north of Joshua Tree. Same thing happened to him (few years ago).

Landers has been hit hard as well, and I was just told that, again, an entire shipping container disappeared off someone's property the other day. Not even bothering to break in- just take the whole damn thing?

I will go post on pirate right now- no sign of anything on craigslist, but I will keep looking.
 
Here's a few of the trailer- was a piece of crap home made flat bed when I bought it... But I put a lot of effort into making It work well. Now it has side rails- narrower in the front than the back, and the ramps have permanent storage under the back. Ammo cans welded onto the front, and a winch under one of them. The side rails wrap around the front and kick down at an angle- clears up the winch cable from catching or rubbing on anything. It's what I built- not another like it.

I will be posting a few fliers in town... Never know- maybe something pops up.

I get all worked up thinking about it still.
My dad and his wife are not coming out at all for the holidays now, and my girlfriend is afraid to be out there. I'm going to follow up with I sheriffs tomorrow and see if they will tell me anything.

-also, about a week ago, I Caught a suspicious light colored Tacoma screwing around at my neighbors house in the dark. Colorado plates. Whomever it was heard my step brothers and I working our way up in the dark and spooked off. They drove, and stopped around every corner on the road looking to see if anybody was coming. Really odd- I chased them down and reported plate number to the sheriffs. Dunno if that could have been a new owner or somebody who was on the up and up- but if not, I didn't much feel like getting into a shoot out, so I took off and went back to waiting for sheriffs (they were already on the way when I noticed flashlight probing around neighbors house) to come collect blood samples from whatever crackhead broke my window and let themselves in... Didn't want to be away from my house when they finally got there either.
