An automatic with a torque converter that has a low stall will make it tough to smoke 'em with a stock engine. It doesn't let the engine get into the powerband before it grabs, and holds the RPM's down. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif But if you're quick with the shifter, here's a trick that works every time... Make sure the front hubs are unlocked (they should be anyway to reduce parasitic drag, for the best possible ET). Pull up to the burnout box, slap the T-case into 4-Lo, step on the brake pedeal and start giving her some gas. You should be able to smoke the livin' daylights out of 'em! Then quickly shift back into 2-Hi and pull into the staging lights. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif (I did this same trick at Epping back around 1989 and it worked beautifully. Smoked up the 35-inch Mud-Terrains really nice).
