My son and I spent the better part of the last year converting a short bus (22') into a RV. It has 5.9 Cummins and Allison 5 speed automatic transmission (545). Any reason why we couldn't use this for a hauler? We don't have a trailer yet, but shopping for one.

This sounds like it's just a short version of a full size school bus, correct?

If so then yes, no reason you can't pull a trailer of some sort.

Is it intercooled?
Soften the suspension on that thing. It is going to be a rough ride. But will tow just fine.
Do you know how i may go about that? We drove it 600 miles back in the summer, it like to have beat my teeth out! Could i just remove a leaf or two? Air pressure is at suggested 105psi rear and 90psi front.

That's what I figured. They are designed to be loaded.

Air ride would be the best, but costly. Does it have an air pump on it, or is it hydraulic brakes? Air ride seat would help a lot.

Leafs can be removed, but then the carrying capacity starts to drop. I have seen the leaf above the one removed bend at the end of the next one down. But worth a try.

Air ride seat would be great! I havent looked into Airide...but i may. no it doesnt have air...brake are hydro

Being a medium duty chassis you should be able to find an air ride setup from a heavy duty junkyard fairly cheaply.

Nice thing about the medium/heavy duty trucks is that their parts are more interchangeable, especially drivetrain/suspension.
