Wasilla AK,
I know they kinda suck for any rig that actually wheels but I am considering them for my 79 K30 . The cops love writing tickets for tire coverage here, and honestly It's nice to keep the side of the truck clean .

Pros, Cons, other solutions I haven't thought about? I need 2" more tire coverage to be legal with the rims I will running

I run flares to be legal in Calif. Looks a whole lot better than two large chucks
of rubber hanging off the back bumper. Keeps the sides clean.

This thread just makes me glad that I've never had issues with this type of BS in the south. When I moved to Nashville from GA, I was surprised that 1975 and newer have emissions tests. Can't be too strict though, as I passed without a cat. They're not too smart either.

http://pacerperformance.com/products-footer/flexy-flares This stuff is pretty nice. Never seen it on a square. A guy I used to work with hacked out the fenders on a super duty and was running big ass military tires and bought the version that screws to a flat surface and it looked pretty good. They even have Chevy kits already. It's nice flexible rubber stuff so it doesn't just break like a plastic flare.

They don't look bad, but it just seems a shame to cut up the fenders on a nice truck when you don't have to. Again, if I went that route I'd just get the Xenons, you've got almost three inches of coverage, there's actually a relief cut for the marker light, you can take them off if you want to, and they're significantly less expensive.

Mine were made by Rancho and are no longer available. They used the same holes as the original trim. They also had a double stick tape on the outer edge and no fender cutting. Zenon is the only thing close to that.

I'm heavily leaning towards the xenons , but honestly I'm not scared of cutting the fenders for the bushwackers . It's only steel it can be fixed.

Too many obnoxious screws and they cover up have the marker light.

I love the bushwackers.

I think most of their issues can be solved. Such as painting any bare metal where you drill holes. Getting the rubber gasket fit just right and you know never hitting the flares on ANYTHING! LOL.

I truly think that people don't take the amount if of time to really do a nice job

It's gonna be a street truck on a radial 37" or 38" tire , that will eventually be getting my 24-valve/NV5600/Ford 205 . Should never have to worry about the flares making contact with anything except road spray , and minor mud from springtime dirt roads.

If that's the case go for it! It will look tits!
