Buying a Suburban - 6.5l vs Vortec

Gotta love those fooktards. At least you found out first.

Yeah, it sucks. I cannot wait much longer and feel that I will be getting a vortec sub instead. The clock is ticking and this has allowed us to take a step back and look at the situation. I think we are going to keep the new sub under $4k and then sell our camry. We will be in big hurt for money once my wife quits her job.

I got a few pics from camping and will post them later. I did not get many pics as I was alone with my boys and that does not leave much time for pics.

Checked the for sale forum on TDP? I recall there being one on there a while back, but don't remember for sure or the price.

Also check Search Tempest to search craigslist over a wide area. I've done that before.

i do check the TDP classified section. Sometimes I forget, because it is away from the forum.

I am on Search Tempest multiple times a day (as well as ebay and autotrader).

Well the search is over. On my way home from our long camping trip, I saw a burb for sale on the side of the hwy in a semi populated area. I went and bought it today. It is a '99 5.7l vortec LS suburban. It is clean inside and out, 145K, runs great, shifts great, does not make any weird sounds. It has a few small issues; missing the handle on drivers seat recline (drivers seat is power), the open/close switch on the drivers door does not work, missing and/or poor shape floor mats, and stains on the very back carpet. I paid $3K.

I did not get home till dark, so pics will have to wait until morning.

Here is some pics of the new sub;

Sweet buy, and pics.

On the IFS trucks, i think you did good getting a gasser with lower overall mileage, than a high mileage diesel. Mainly for suspension condition.

What condition is the trans fluid in? Original trans? I'd do a fluid/filter change immediately, and throw a large cooler on there to try and make it last. Regardless of how you are going to drive it. Then keep up with your fluid changes.

Looks like you need a spare tire cover too.

Besides that, looks clean! have fun!

Wow - your kids are beautiful! :waytogo: Sure been wishing recently that I were in a place to have children. Gotta wait another 3 or 4 years till done with grad school though...
