Caddy Caliper and rotor question...

Why is everyone paying so much for these calipers? I went to Kragens and paid $29 each plus an extra $10 because I didn't have a core. That's $80 rebuilt with a warranty. They didn't have the arms or springs so I went to a Caddy junkyard and he sold me the arms and springs for $15. He had thousands in stock. And plenty of rebuildable core calipers for cheap.

I guess you are in caliper hevan then.

Kind of funny that when I got the kragen's website they are $117 without springs or arms. Oh btw there is an $88 core charge which brings the out the door price to $206.85 and you still need the springs and arms. And that's just for ONE of them, so $412 with out arms and springs. I paid $50 a side for them from a caddie junkyard. :eek1:

I don't know what you purchased but the 78 rear eld calipers are costly to say the least!

I'm gonna have call BS on this one.

Napa online is about the same as Oreilly.

I just called the caddy junkyard where I bought mine and they have gone up to $50 a piece for rebuildable cores with arms and springs. When I get home I'll take a look at my old receipt and find out what part number I purchased from Kragens. I didn't know Oreilly's owned Kragens now.

The junkyard is in Chatsworth/ Canoga Park California.

Cadillacs only, 818-772-0707

That's the same place I purchase my arms and springs from for $50 a side. I'm sure I still have my receipt.

What? you said you purchased them from Kragens for $39 bucks...

So you bought them from here or what?

I paid $29 each for the calipers plus $10 each for the cores without the arms and springs at Kragens.

Then I went to the Caddy junkyard and paid $15 for the arms and springs. Less than $100 for everything plus rotors, calipers, etc. And I know I have my receipts.

What is the part number on the caliper? When I went to the website it was $206 bucks for the caliper as posted above.

The 79-85 calipers are pretty cheap. It's the 76-78 calipers that are the high dollar ones. If they are $39, I'm gonna buy 25 sets and retire.

About an hour ago I went to the Cadillacs only website and requested a price for the calipers. Here is what he sent back. It's my email trail to the caddy company. Not such a great deal IMO.

I can do rebuilt rear calipers for 150.00 each with used e-brake levers and springs.

That's not an unreasonable price if they come rebuilt. I mean it IS an unreasonable price, but it's lower than any other place I've checked. Most Kragens stores I checked couldn't even get them at all when you actually tried to buy them. They list them on the site, but always come back "unavailable" if you try to go through with the order.

That's not the question. It's having an ebrake on a DD and the 76-78 rear eldos are very costly but they fit the bill. I would imagine they would be half that if we 4x4s were not the ones buying them.

I'm still waiting to see the $39 eldo caliper part number. I'm gonna post it like crazy and buy a ton of them.

I just checked my rec't from 3/11/06.

Part# pa 7563497 184117 $38.99 & Part# pa 7563505 184116 $29.99, plus a $10 core charge on each. I did use a friends shop resell account.
I was a few bucks off but only by $30 total.

Cadillacs Only charged me a cash price of $34.13 for the arms and springs. 3/22/06

Those part numbers are now quoting at $93 +core now. Plus when you try to order them online, it comes back that they are unavailable. I guess everyone bought them all up.
