Cage welding question

Sign me up, I would love to do that. You prolly will not need 200' though. Seeing how you are building a light wieght buggy that would prolly be overkill.
 
I hadn't thought of the Honda civic stuff. I would bet the lockers etc for that would be cheap, and the axles are a dime a dozen.

Man start a build thread on this. When you do can you post like ten pictures an hour to show us exactly where you are at with the build?

I am so suscribing to this thread.

I might need more thinking of making it a 6 seater so we could charge for rides.:dunno: Might be able to make some extra money that way:deal:

Maybe you could just get a roll of copper tubing and bend the cage out of one long solid run. Then you could use a few zip ties on the over laps. I think this would hold up fine for a 4 seater but may not be strong enough for a 6 seater. Just trying to give you ideas. :bow:

I think the copper would work, if you filled it with concrete after you were done. He is talking about building a super hardcore rig here & just the copper alone would not be strong enough. If it wasn't an all out buggy the copper would be fine.:wink1:
 
I didn't think about the concrete idea. What about a filling it with bedliner material instead. Just for the sake of weight.

Just make sure you have a top of the line security system, you don't want any scrappers stealing your copper buggy
 
I guess you could always run a lead off the battery to your cage to ward off potential theft.
 
I used the quick drying JB Weld to put together my chrome triple-double rollbar on my truck. Also used it when mounting up all 12 of the KC lights on it. So far it's held up to at least a dozen trips to the mall and crawling over several parking bumpers.

Is there some kind of epoxy I can use to mount up some neon lights to my frame. I was originally thinking just duct tape to keep it simple.
 
concrete and bedliner will be to heavy. Thniking about using a few cans of spray foam. Wonder if I could get High Angle Driveline and Offroad Design to sponser me?
