throttleissues (chris) in south CA is bring me a long bed crew cab truck and spear cab, all the way to me in IN. im trying to find him as many hauls this way and as many as he can haul back. the trip is set for june so every ones got some time to plan. his route coming out of cal will be I-70 and hes planning on coming back 80 to 90, threw SD and MT. looks like hes going to be pulling a 40 ft. goose neck, so there should be some spare room. hopefully,  :eek1:

I am probably sending with him a couple of big rig tires to a guy in indianapolis too.

space is getting shorter, just added a truck bed and cap.

new total a complete crew cab truck with cap on it (dry storage for the long haul, HINT, HINT), one c&c cab only, a few semi tires, and what ever else we can squeaze on the trailer.

Where in Cali. will he be? Maybe a few of us can meet for lunch or something.

Yep, Indy4x4fab wants so much stuff I'm looking at a bigger trailer now.:doah: OK, I wanted a bigger trailer anyway. This just gives me a good excuse.:D

too bad you're not further south, i have a '96 Burb without motor or trans i need brought to Indiana, it's currently in Phoenix.

My original plan though, was to fly out there in a few months, rent a u-haul for the stuff in storage, and pick up this flatbed car trailer i'm getting from a friend and hual the truck back on that, but now plans are changing again, i'm flying out Tuesday and most likely will be staying there for a few months, get a temp job and buy another car, since my Burb has decided to be very unreliable recently... :doah:

so i may end up needing another driver on the way back now

:D

My 13 year-old is an excellent driver:D...especially if it's not my truck.
:haha:
It's looking like I need a 30ft trailer just to get Indy's stuff hauled back there. I'd have to go even bigger to add a burb to the mix.:doah:

i see your location,,,,"soon to be Kern county" ugh...:doah:

last time i was in Kern county, i was rolling SB up the Grapevine, stopped at the truckstop to "clean up" my log book, rolled through that scale at the base, they pulled me in for my annual inspection:doah:

ah well, no biggie as i knew my truck was fine, i'm picky about that, and i just upated the log,,, well turns out, i was having a brainfart with the book i guess,,,, everything checked out except my 70...

i was at 71.5 hours, SOOOOO, i got the wonderful little award for over hours of service, shut down and had to wait for more hours the next day. Luckily they were nice enough to inform me though, that as long as i was not hooked to the trailer, i could drive to the Flying J up a few miles ahead so i could have a place to eat, shower & fuel.

That sucked, cause that fine ended up costing me,,,, $650 :eek1::doah:

i was pissssssed. then they told me it wouldn't be in my driving record cause it wasn't considered a moving violation, i check my driving record several months later and there an "unsafe vehicles operation of motor vehicle" or something like that on there, i called them to complain, Cali told me they put all log bok violations on driving reports now.:doah:

Pretty much the final straw as to why i wanted to get out of driving trucks.

Yup, CHP is brutal on everybody, especially truckers. I saw 6 regular CHP cars and a temporary trucker focker station on a 140mile round trip drive today.:doah: Talk about targeting an area. All of them were actually in about a 25mile stretch of highway.

At least they let you do that, in CA if you are bob tailing you can be considered as a regular car.
I was Nebraska and I had enough time to get to the next truck stop when they pull me in for an inspection, they looked at the log, looked at the clock and then proceeded to ask me a bunch of questions over and over then after 45 minutes, they look at the clock again, and they say... You are 15 minutes over on your 14, no violations noted but now you can't go anywhere.
That was the north platte station, 2 miles down the road was a Flying J, they wouldn't let me drive my bob tail there to go eat, have a shower etc, they kept me there 10 hours then released me. :doah:
I was furious, a few months later I quit going that far and stayed n the 5 western states.

I live in SLC, UT. and have a Blazer/Jimmy rollbar, that may need to go back to michigan.
Any chance of rolling through SLC, on I-80 on the trip eastbound?

If not I could grab it and pass it along, I am in SLC every week.

As it stands, I'm planning on heading there on the 70 and returning on the 80, probably with several detours off the highway.

any body in so cal got a 30ft or 40ft gooseneck that throttleissues could use for this long haul? as it looks now hes stuck using his 18 ft car hauler.
