I ordered these and they are pretty crusty imo, but does that disqualify them from use?
Well known seller here said they were good and that’s why I agreed to add them to my parts order no big deal I need them.
Am I good or not? 100% daily and towing so brakes are kinda important.

Plan b is to do the gm caliper swap for 16s if I can just put em on and do nothing else to the system.
Plan C I guess is to just get nicer brackets.

I’ve seen rustier than that.

I say clean them up and see if your stuff works fine. If not, you have your answer.

Wire brush?
@sweetk30 what say you rust belt?

Blast cabinet . Paint black . Run them .

I have run and seen way worse . I am talking knocking off scale like ship boat barnicle build up.

There is a few times i have posted up how to check bendix brake calipers for play . And then with that spec order the oversize shim needed to bring them back in spec on older worn knuckles . I know it will be napa # for the shims . I should still have the sheet in my toolbox if you cant find it on here .

You guys are nuts.

Years ago I got a set of D60 caliper brackets for some rear axle brake fab that were heavily pitted/rusted.
My initial thoughts were no big deal as they are thick-n-stout but upon play’n around with them I found one was a loose fit with the caliper mounted ( as in the ears of the bracket was spread open slightly ) and had too much fore-n-aft play/movement even with new OEM retention hardware installed.
Don’t know if this was caused by the metal fatigue over time and use or if that particular bracket went through something rough one day.
Just thought I‘d throw this out there since it’s somewhat related to the topic.

there is oversize wedges to correct this problem . i have posted up the sheet a few times .

I have now lived in the south out of the rust belt for over 16 years and I am still surprised somewhere in the back of my lizard brain when suspension parts just come apart. I don’t need to cut anything or melt anything.
