Here is mine with a 2 1/2" or 4" lift :dunno:and bald tires.I am stepping up to a 6" next month,I would like to go to 35's but I want to regear for those 1st.I'll do the lift but stick with the 33's for now.33's are great for a daily driver.

How much would you sell the old springs for? email me at [email protected] if you would be interested in selling them...... but It might be a little while before I can have the money, but if you're in no hurry to sell them, shoot me an email,
Thanks,
James

Sweet suburban. Its funny, when I went to 35's I picked up the same Dunlops. Can't beat the price at Sam's club. $125 a tire for 35x12.50 15's. Looks better with the 35's for sure. Next up, regear!

its amazing to see how many people are running, or have run 33's
this thread has really encouraged me about the 33's I will be getting...
Now I'm trying to decide what kinda of lift I want to go with.... I can't make up my mind, as there are pro's and con's of each height and type....

any other pics would be awsome

sorry I'm beating a dead horse by reviving this post, but those pics are just so awosome.. I've really pumped about my 33's I will be getting ;)

if you are sticking with the 33's there is no point in lifting. they fit nicely under a stock suspension, and IMHO look better that way.

If you're going to lift, step up to 36's

i used to have 33's with 2.5" lift, 4.56 gear, detroit rear, lsd front. didnt flex so well with the swaybar still on. glad i got rid of that. i now have 37's....

as long as I keep getting cool pics, I'm gonna keep bumping this thing... once they run out, I'll let it gracefully die
isn't that annoying ;)

I told a guy that I work with that he could have em.If he decides he doesn't want them I'll let you know.

Here's an old one (taken back in 89/90 range) of my old 77 PU w/ 4" & 33" Mud Kings. Excuse the water damage on the pic .. it's one of the few that "survived" the flood in 98.

Thanks. My neighbor went with the 33" dunlops on the 70 GMC he bought from me. I helped him get them from Sam's club for $540 mounted, balance, road hazard, etc..... Can't beat it. Unfortunately no 35" for a 16.5" rim.

hey 78burb, I am about to lift my 89 suburban 4" and use 33's my self. I have been doing a lot of research on it. I am still looking for a comfortable ride and to use my burb as tow rig, but be capable of having some fun with. So far what I have found doing a shackle flip in the rear and 56" springs up front would yeild the nicest ride. I am also converting my burb over to 4x4 at the same time. Search on my name here and pirate4x4.com to see the results I came up with about lifting my burb. The guys here and their gave me some excelent advice. They also helped send me in directions of other things to search for and learn about. DO not forget to get extended brake lines. I hear people say you don't really need them for 4" of lift, but I think differently. I did have my burb stuck the otherday on a sand burm. (I live in the desert.) Anyway I had the back tires dug down into the sand and the front tires where hanging off at full flex. While I was stuck like that waiting to be pulled out I was checking my front end over. It was after 6' off the ground. Brake lines where not tight but with a 4" lift I think they easily could have been. Just another thing you should research and decide on for your self.

I have foind tons of info on this site for lifting my burb. Do a search on shackle flip, do one on 56" spring conversion and do on eon extended brake lines. You will find tons of info. I will be lifting my burb 4" all with parts from teh donor truck I am going to get my 4x4 parts off of. I have to buy the donoro vehicle for the 4x4 so i figure the lift is free since I will already have the vehicle. The things I will have to pay for. New longer shocks on all 4 corners, extended brake lines. Heavy duty shackles.(just for my piece of mind)

I'm just gonna get some direct bolt in front lift springs, and either a shackle flip in the rear or a rear lift spring... my real struggle is between 2.5" lift and 4" lift... Tough Country or BDS..........
Whatever be the case, I'm gonna run NO lift for the time being, and 33's...

PS: where's your 33's pic :eek1: ... just kidding

is there a lift

Your truck looks nice is there a lift on it, and if so what size?

thanx

33x12.5x16.5 3" blocks in the rear.just to level it out.never rubbed the fenders.

those 3" blocks in the rear have actually "jacked it up" in the rear...

if you're comparing the wheel well openings,,,don't,,,the fronts were cut higher than the rears, giving most trucks a saggy butt look.
