Can-back soft top, group buy?

I'm in! I to have been blowing them up with phone calls and emails. I am thinking if we can get him to throw in the crossbars for free, then we could just pay full price for the top. I think we would be better off that way, plus everyone wants to put a basket up top!

I definitely want in on a group buy! I appreciate all the info the posters in this thread have provided.

Just thought I would add that the side and rear windows are available with 20% tint and all tops will have a 3rd brake light. I thought these were really nice touches, especially the brake light.

OK, so I signed up for the notification about the top and I just got an email from them. It states that the full size blazer needs to be designed and he hopes to ship them this year. I hope what I have been reading from those of you personally in touch with them is the correct info and not this. Either way, I am looking forward to the release.

docgab, I spoke with him about a week ago so my info is correct. Looking for a August release, but he did state he would try his hardest to beat that. Basically each step gets 4 weeks, so 4 weeks for designing prototype and fixing any forseeable problems, 4 weeks for manufacturing, then releases begin (or shipping). They were slated to start on the frames this week with the new CNC bender.

By the way, is your avatar a C1 fracture? Cant tell from the small pic.

Fantastic!! I appreciate the heads up. I figured the info you were providing was what we were gonna go with, but I just wanted to make sure after that email I got.

As far as the avatar, I can't recall as I've had it long enough and the picture is indeed too small to tell. lol

i hear ya bro.....they state that this top should last 7-10years so it seems worth it....

and you said "as well" 4 times in about one line:deal:

haha, no prob, it is 130am here. I saw you said you were trying to get the misses to make you one:D I might try to get a local upholstry shop to make me a very simple bimini to go from my cab to the tailgate, at a downward sloping angle, for when I dont want to mess with the Can-Back.....i.e. down at the Savannah River where branches could shred it:doah:

What is the deal? Is anyone been in contact with Can-Back lately? I am begining to believe that they are not ever going to make this top. I guess i need to start my own top company. I have heard that the old skyler company is for sale maybe I can start there. I have also thought about modifying a second fiberglass top to have canvas sides so that I can use the rear electric window.
