Hey All,

I'm in the Denver/Arvada area and would really appreciate it if I could borrow or buy your ALDL cable. I just put a TBI engine in my '72 and need to read the codes and check out the data.

If no response, I'll order one tomorrow, I just hate to wait!

Thanks

Jim

I know the feeling. Went to Radio Shack (finally) last week to buy the diodes to make a last attempt at a cable.

The basic 160 baud cable (which is what TBI uses) is very easy to make, the 8162 is pretty easy too, but so far no luck getting them to work after building. Let us know who you buy from. There are a bunch of companies out there, mastech I believe was the cheapest I could find for built cables, with a decent reputation.

You've got moates.net as well, but pricier. There are others.

Pay attention to USB or serial, if your laptop only supports one like many newer.

Just ordered the USB / 12 pin from ALDL Cable. If anyone wants to check it out let me know, I'm pretty much available all summer (teacher).

Roughly all GM injection up to OBD2 (1996) excluding the LT1 stuff apparently. Not too clear on the LT1, but essentially if it's OBD1, and most CCC (1981+ electronic carbs) you can pull data from it.
