Can i get an opinion on buying this k5

Buy it...
haggle for lower price....
do work yourself,

the guys here are very helpful and knowledgeable with the trucks.

To me it looks like the cab roof has been replaced. The hood replaced is obvious. Hard to say in one picture of bottom side of rocker panel, I think I see a repair.
The tail pan and tail gate pictures don't focus on the trouble spots.
No lift on this truck. Does have 16" wheels with stockish size tires. Possibly larger diameter. Nice the factory rally wheels are still available.
I would be suspicious if this truck didn't have the oil seepage in the report. GM warranty of the day stated if it doesn't drip it's not a leak.
Nothing scary in that report, except the no rust.
1 picture I could not place of the underside looks like damage but can't tell what.
It does look like pretty nice survivor, 12k probably not, and find out why the cab roof is black and the seam is not sealed

Nobody can guarantee condition based on pictures, but that does look like about as solid of a foundation as you can find anymore. Ideally you could see under the carpets, since it looks like there may have been some water in it. Somebody removed a roof rack and patched the outside? Plus, as said the roof may have been replaced - or maybe the paint just got so bad they started fixing it. Is there something sticking out of the body on the DS, just in front of the rear bumper? If you're already planning on paint, the tow mirrors and mismatched parts aren't big issues.

A couple of those pictures are of a different vehicle, though!

yeeeeaaaaahhh i just have a hard time swallowing a 12K pill for a vehicle like this. overall its in better condition than mine when i bought it 10-15 years ago, and I know times are changing, but thats a chunk of change to drop on a K5 and then to deal with the usual issues... 10 bolt rear end, trans rebuilds...

Is there anything special here that seperates this one from the rest of them? 10-15 grand should put you in a market that still has a lot of other options??

If i were going to build one, i would keep looking. If i were going to polish on it a lot and leave it mostly like i purchased... might consider this one. might keep looking too though.

Does it have a roof rack or did it? Looks like 3 holes/leak areas on both sides of back interior of fiberglass top. Look to se same 3 holes in front area of top as well.

It looks to be pretty solid, but in order to be a “nice driver” you probably need to spend $3-5k, not including paint, to get it where it deserves to be.

Just buy it... you're going to have put in a few grand to get it street worthy.
If you want a K5 then you're going to pay either upfront or while you fix up a pile of shizzz to get it street worthy. Cheap running C10's or K are a thing of the past.
